Default Same issue with erro: 0xffffffff80043038

I am having the same problem. The launcher just vanishes or issues an error. The error I remembered to write down was: 0xffffffff80043038. There was at least one other but I didn't write it down.

I don't get that exact error but same failure to update... "An update error occurred. unknown error: E_FAIL"

thanks to all who are helping bring visibility to this issue.

Well...new behavior now after the 8th or 9th clean install....

I get to the 88%...and the launcher just goes away.

    So...improvement?

    No associated Windows log...

    still crashing; exact behavior.

    first the unknown error: 0xffffffff80043038
then on next pass of cycle, unknown error: E_FAIL

    too frustrated to continue tonight.

will try again in the am and hope this is confined to only one day of subscription lost.

Did you try rebooting your computer?

I tried everything, rebooting, running as Administrator, etc, to no avail.

I redownloaded client installer from the ddo website and ran it as Administrator. After a repair I can now play the game.

rebooted 3 times (seriously rebooted way more than 3x); sacrificed multiple kobolds to the "Elders of the Internet" (IT Crowd reference; it's worthy... look it up)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDbyYGrswtg

Nothing!! Same crash; same result. over and over and over. rinse and repeat... then with mounting frustration that promised threat of insanely bloody violence.... behold out of nowhere with no rhyme or reason:

Only after threatening to wipe out all hamsters on all the wheels (had them all at crossbow-point; they were scared) and ripping out all shreds of DDO 4 more times and attempting reinstalls plus reboots, then finally on the 5th try and launching an unrelated binge-able tv show and catching a couple episodes with the launcher running minimized.........

I exited out of my show to find myself at a login screen.

gingerly, unbelievingly did i input my pswd and found myself in-game. what a pita. what changed? absolutely nothing on my end that i could discover.

all i can think is that finally, after enough kobold blood and shinies had been laid on the Alter of Internet, the Elders of the Internet smiled...

    and thus endeth my rant.

Elders of the Internet, one day we will come for you; we do NOT forget.......

i was just coming back here to say the same thing. i had to uninstall and reinstall the game. But now when i first start the client after logging in, it makes my screen blue! i can stilll see everything on my screen but everything is blue for a few mins. then it goes normal and i can play. but when i close DDO out it does the same thing for a while , everything goes blue again.....

edit: oh but words are all messed up when the screen is blue

    Default Can't Install Pre-reqs

After the recent update 4/8/20. I keep getting an installing pre-reqs message and nothing advances. I have re-installed, I keep restarting my computer, I have tried launcher repair and installer repair.
