My son and I were playing Sharn tonight and had a pretty sucky quest. He tried to report it in game through HELP but the report window wouldn't work, so bringing it up here. We will try to file a ticket in morning too.
Playing House of Pain and we got to the end. No one was near dead or anything.
Then suddenly the game says my son's character is incapacitated. Well, judging by the fact that he was full health, walking around, no negative spells on him, and no opponents left to harm him, i am guessing this was an error.
We figured no problem, we would grab our loot and finish.
Open the end chest, and there's only loot for my PC and not his. To make it worse, there are the Gauntlets of the Iron Council (artifact and perfect for his barbarian) in my loot, and it won't let me switch it over to his character for ownership. I try other items as well, but it seems like the game thinks he is dead or incapacitated and not there. Nothing can be transferred over to him.
I try to heal him to make him not incapacitated but it does not help. Try to raise him, but says he is an invalid target.
Normally we would just exit and forget it, but the Gauntlets are ideal for him, so we try to go to the in game help through his account. It starts for about 10 seconds, and then the help dialog box goes black. Try again, and the dialog box is completely blacked out. Try again, same thing. Never had this occur before.
Then the game goes black for him and seems to crash. Never had thst happen. So my PC grabs the Gauntlets (no use to me really). And I complete the quest.
After waiting awhile with the black screen, we close the game and re-log in. Go to the help dialog again and it says a few lines, but is again mostly black and wont allow us to report anything.
Then in the public zone it again says he is incapacitated. But he is moving around fine with no issues.
We try again to report the issue, but no luck. We reboot the game 2 more times and try, but also no luck.
Finally we gave up and went to bed pretty disappointed he missed out on a really good item that he had been hoping for. I am not sure if the GMs can do anything retroactively but it was a pretty disappointing moment to have to take the Gauntlets myself and not let the kid have them....
My story for the night.
