Lag is much better so far...

HOWEVER, I was just running Quarantine and I think you guys might have broke it somehow... At the Aerele fight: Aerele doesn't leave their invulnerable state. They just stand around and you can't kill them which prevents the quest from progressing. I restarted the first time and thought it was a odd but whatever, went again a second time and had the same thing happen.

Since the servers came back up I have done Sharn chains 2 and 3 which includes Sole Survivor, a notorious lagfest since release, with almost no lag at all. A few mini spikes of lag here and there but nothing I would normally worry about if I wasn't specifically assessing lag issues.

The Soul Survivor endfight, previous to this patch, was an awful experience, a war of attrition, but my experience today was very different from any other time I've played it. For once, I actually enjoyed the quest because I was fighting the mobs and not the lag.

I'm impressed. Whatever you did has had a positive effect.

It's still early days though, I wouldn't consider an evening of play a proper test, but the signs are very promising indeed. I'm looking forward to testing Too Hot To Handle at the weekend.

I'm playing on Ghallanda server by the way.

I spent most of the day on HC running both solo and with guildies in necro 2 and such. I did not notice any lagging.

I must admit I saw a drastic improvement in gameplay tonight. We were all on Heroic Elite with one hired cleric. The little lag we encountered was manageable.

We ran the last two flagging quests in Stormhorns as well as the final quest and had little issues.

Two days prior to this update, the same group almost wiped in the final quest in The High Road chain.

So, from my perspective, whatever you guys did worked. Thanks

Network performance does seem noticeably improved. I don't know if it's just me though, but I feel like my spell aiming, is less accurate and are 'missing' more, when they should have hit.

for example; a Fireball will visually hit something in the face just before it moves, but it doesn't register.

Was a polling rate reduced or something?

Thanks for all the hard work, by the way.

Default can u give us more details about what specific bug you fixed please?

well it seems like i have not died yet* from the game seizing up like what has been happening for the last MONTH and a half since you severely broke something critical in the interconnected parts of the game code with Update 45! ... and were unable to correct with the last update that was supposed to fix some "client and server issues" (that were likely unrelated to what was actually broken). So anyhow, I just noticed part of the ropes that line the railings on my guild airship (Daedalean Kraken) are missing... parts of it are there, but on several ramps the side rail is missing the rail part, just has the row of posts that would be holding up the railing. can you fix that pretty please? am used to running up the railings like a ninja cat but now cannot due to a broken ship. at least the paint job is visible..

So far I still have lag issues.

delay on actions and occasional freezes.

It's better than before patch, but not even close to before this lag fiesta started. (in my case, lag issues started some 2 weeks before game went free for all, so i doubt it's completely related to population increase)

Reaper is still a no go (Can't kite Carnage reaper with this lag), but elite is OK, so far.

I got an hour in after the update (Orien, Wheloon) and saw no lag, but it was only Wheloon...
I'll hang around in Sharn proper and see if there's any of that horrible lockdown I got to experience a few days ago and ask my guidlies for anecdotal statements.

    Ghallanda

Today I have been doing Slayers in groups.

Thunderholme - full group, 12 players - no lag except for when the first person went through the door to the lower level (what we now affectionately call "Lag Door") which lasted 2 or 3 seconds. This is a massive improvement as this particular area has suffered terrible lag since it was released.

Orchard - 4 to 6 players. Major lag. Rubberbanding. Firing at mobs with no effect. A truly awful experience. I think you need to look at this one.

We had the same experience on Orien. Orchard slaying was impossible with the lag, yet other than a small hitch when people went through the door downstairs, Thunderholme was nice. I did find small touches of loot lag in regular quests still (most notable being Spy's).

I played over lunch on Sarlona yesterday as well as for several hours last night (also on Sarlona). I only experienced lag once that I can remember, but it only lasted about 1.5 seconds and was when I switched areas (I don't remember from where to where).

I don't know if the improvement is due to the patch, the restart, or a combination of both. But it was much improved for me soloing with a hireling including in some mob-heavy areas where I had yellow DA.

Just done Eveningstar chains 1,2 and 3.

Small groups of 3 - 4 players. All good with no lag except for Unquiet Graves in chain 1 which was very laggy. All wilderness areas that these quests reside in seemed fine.

So they've fixed one major source of lag along with a few minor ones, now to find the rest.

Well that was good while it lasted. Lag is back full force on Orien.

    Running with a full group.

Just done High Road chain - no lag for the most part, endfight in A Stay at the Inn had some lag but not too bad. Everything else including the wilderness was fine.

Wheloon Prison chain - No lag in the quests but the wilderness area was pretty bad on a few occasions, especially running between Army of Shadow and The Thrill of the Hunt.

Storm Horns chain - no lag in quests or wilderness except for Breaking the Ranks which had pretty bad lag at the beginning of the quest but it settled down after a few minutes (and a few deaths).

Yesterday and today, ran a couple of quests on Ghallanda, no lag. Heroic Orchard both days, however, so much lag it was (almost) unplayable. Group of 2 with hires last night. We were able to fight through the lag and go around the whole wilderness. Today, I went into the Orchard solo with hires and the lag was so bad, I didn't even try. Also, the Epic Rare Karthonep the Restless was there in heroic, but he did not activate. He was CR 17 if that matters.

    Thumbs down

So the patch only lasted a full day before the game got broken again.
Impossible lags every time you engage mobs, impossible lags when there are no mobs, public instances lag.
    Very frustrating.

    Ghallanda

I soloed these in the early hours of this morning.

Lords of Dust chain - no lag at all.

Druids (Eveningstar) chain - no lag at all.

Edit: almost forgot White Plume Mountain - no lag there either.

It's raid night tonight, looking forward to testing Too Hot To Handle. Also, going to do a few quests that people have reported lag in, most notably A Study In Sable, I'll let you know how I get on.

Just soloed A Study in Sable

There was no lag. However, I did experience a client crash to desktop (very unusual, my system is very stable). I logged back in to find I was still alive but my Soul Stone was lying in a pile of the quest items I had collected.

    Event Log details:
