    Default Update 46 Preview 2: Named Loot

    Update 46 is expected to contain the following new named loot items located in the quests of "The Lost Gatekeepers" adventure pack. During this preview you can easily access this loot via "The Loot Guy" NPC located in the center of the Test Dojo. Below you can see listings for all of the named loot expected in Update 46 including Heroic and Legendary variants as well as Legendary exclusive Minor Artifacts and Filigree Sets.

    • The heroic version of Kinetic Sphere erroneously had Force Absorption and Energy Siphon.
    • Some chests were dropping a placeholder basic dagger instead of named loot

    I still think that the material part of weapons shouldn't count as one of its effects, given that stronger effects exist to make them count as ALL materials.

    I don't think giving Metalline to these would be thematic, but that Silver Blade of the Flame not counting as a Silver weapon or even Flametouched Iron still sounds odd.

    I know making it both silver and holy sounds like it would tread on the toes of the Barovian Weapons.

    Alternatively, make it a Blade of the Sovereign Host. It's their favored weapon, not the Flame's!
    Give it Charisma skill bonuses. Even subtler, give it Charisma to damage or to hit.

    As-is, the heroic weapon doesn't even fit its own description...
    "This is a fine weapon, crafted of exquisite Silver..."

    If the graphics weren't already settled in, I'd have suggested keeping the enchantment list, but making it a longbow.
    At least, making the arrows that fly out magically turn into silver makes it sound more legendary, and the bow being made out of silver but not piercing DR makes a lick of sense.

    At the moment there are 2x 4 piece filigree sets that give +2 to all DCs and 2x 4 piece filigree sets that give +2 to 1 DC. Giving +1 to some DCs with 3 pieces is not bad. Giving +1 to some DCs with 4 pieces is not worth it. Maybe change it to +1 to some DCs at 3 pieces, and an additional +1 to *all* DCs at 4 pieces?

    Also, why is there a rare bonus to an individual spellpower that's lower than the rare bonus to all spellpowers?

    Still say the nullification on the only caster club is redundant since most wizards - alchs are using necro gear sets with max null n poi already

    I don't know what else to put there instead but anything would be better give me a single decent thing i'd probably buy this pack first day just for a new club to sw

    It's even worse than that. You don't need to compare to other filigree sets. Just compare the 4 piece set giving +1 DC to 4 schools (plus 0.5 to all), to slotting in 4 random casting ability score filigree, for +2 DC to all schools. Shouldn't using a set have an advantage over a random mishmash?

    The Armor-Piercing is awesome. Could we have the slot changed to ring instead of bracer for this since it ties up a slot that can be used for Legendary Greensteel which hurts a lot of builds. Another alternative would be to make this a dual slot bracer or ring.

    Please don't change this item for the following reasons since the proposed changes earlier in this discussion make the item too niche.
    • Absent further changes this is hands down the best healing item in the game.
    • Legendary Flamecleansed Fury is more of a healing and direct damage set so there's little value in adding spell focus mastery.
    • Legendary Flamecleansed Fury has the Tattered Scrolls of the Broken One which is good for all healers using the set since it provides MRR (a must in Reaper and Raids), and also boosts turn undead for clerics. Not all players will want to use the regular bracers from this set.
    • This is a direct upgrade from Legendary Sunstone Guantlets which is the best general healing item available.
    • Legendary Conduit of Soul has Divine Augmentation, 440 spell points and Quality Spellpower so a caster using Legendary Flamecleansed Fury wanting divine augmentation could still use it with other stats pertinent to that niche.

    Corroded Iron Figure Trinket
    Minimum Level: 3/29
    • Stunning +3/+23
    • Protection +2/+17
    • Insightful Stunning +11
    • Insightful Sheltering +27
    • Blue Augment Slot

    Changing the Protection to Natural Armor bonus would make this item perfect. The Sharn tank set already has Protection on the necklace. This would allow full time use of Citadel's Gaze.

    I hope that change goes live. It would be perfect item for castery hjealery fvs or cleric.
    See how we all might have different preferences ?

    As been mentioned, with fvs set you can't even have 22 wisdom artefact because reasons. So you wear melee 22 wisdom ring.
    Quality mastery is big deal. But it's only on charisma neck and belt. And losing 200 stacking devo sucks.

    And working divine augmentation would be pretty sweet too.
    One item for ze hjealers wouldn't hurt. Because there's sod all in Thth or PN. But I think we got used to that over the years.

    Please don't change this item for the following reasons since the proposed changes earlier in this discussion make the item too niche.
    • Absent further changes this is hands down the best healing item in the game.
    • Legendary Flamecleansed Fury is more of a healing and direct damage set so there's little value in adding spell focus mastery.
    • Legendary Flamecleansed Fury has the Tattered Scrolls of the Broken One which is good for all healers using the set since it provides MRR (a must in Reaper and Raids), and also boosts turn undead for clerics. Not all players will want to use the regular bracers from this set.
    • This is a direct upgrade from Legendary Sunstone Guantlets which is the best general healing item available.
    • Legendary Conduit of Soul has Divine Augmentation, 440 spell points and Quality Spellpower so a caster using Legendary Flamecleansed Fury wanting divine augmentation could still use it with other stats pertinent to that niche.
    No please do change this artifact as was previously discussed. We need a Wisdom artifact that doesn't conflict with the Flamecleansed Fury set. Tattered Scrolls is NOT an artifact and its a raid item and it doesn't support casting, its moot for this conversation. Legendary Conduit of Soul is an option but again it is not a Wisdom based ARTIFACT that supports a wisdom based caster.

    Look, clerics/fvs, are finally, finally getting a Wisdom caster artifact that doesn't conflict with their Sharn set. That is a good thing. As you have already pointed out Devotion/Healing Lore gauntlets already exist, they came out with Sharn so their numbers aren't that far behind. Just wear the Legendary Sunstone Guantlets if that's what you need, we're talking a difference of 17% devotion and 3% crit.

    Changing the Protection to Natural Armor bonus would make this item perfect. The Sharn tank set already has Protection on the necklace. This would allow full time use of Citadel's Gaze.
    Not sure I'd agree with that change - items with protection on them tend to be rarer than those with natural armour.

    Why is this effect still being used on anything? The way it actually functions in game, once the first stack falls off and causes lethargy, the cascade of further stacks falling off results in permanent slow. There is no amount of stats which make up for such an ever-present slow in DDO. Especially as the game has moved into reaper/hardcore/etc styles where one miscalculation can kill you or the party.

    Every item with this effect on it is essentially unusable as one operates well with permanent slow. Either delete this effect, or remove the lethargy component completely.

    If you cannot fix the lethargy portion, perhaps change to use "Medusa's Fury", and then fix Medusa's Fury to correctly apply the Con (so it doesn't disable it's own bonus by raising your HP percent). Maybe have it apply at 50% as well, since 25% is not really viable; and/or remove the Fortification penalty which is pretty dangerous at lower levels. I'd like to see some other lesser used rage style effects that don't perma-slow you. Seems okay to have it grant Rage (via Vengeful) at 51-100% hp and then Medusa's Fury (similar but larger bonus) when under half. Etc.

    The only blood rage this causes is to me IRL when I read that it will be on another item. Thanks.

    PS, it references "Sovereign Vorpal" as replacing "Manslayer" but Manslayer isn't present on the heroic version. Should it be?

    I love this dagger, its amazing concept for a "I'm very angry" beater that's not THF, but are you 100% sure Bloodrage (normal, not Enhanced version) on legendary version is good idea? Up to +8 strength is great for heroic, but in legendary it's gonna be barely noticable. The drawback of -50% attack speed for 12 second is gonna mean the better your gear, and your character, the worse this dagger becomes. It gets much worse if you're not focusing on strength as your to-hit and to-damage stat, which is the majority of cases with dagger users. Assuming you've got perfect uptime, you end up with 12s of +1 hit/dmg, 12s of +2hit/dmg and 12s of +4hit/dmg, after which you take 12s of -50% attack speed. Assuming your attack speed is 115% (100% base and +15% for haste) it's 44% dps loss during those 12 seconds. I'm sure up to +4 damage on every swing for 36 seconds is a lot less than 44% of your total dps for 12 seconds.

    I'd suggest dropping normal bloodrage from legendary version of item, and keeping vengeful on it, since it's not gonna be detrimental to your characters damage. Or perhaps change it to some other fitting effect. Limb chopper sounds nice, but it's small piercing weapon, not a large slashing one, so that absolutely doesn't fit thematic of weapon. Maybe heal on-kill effect, depending on enemies CR? Like that ability in Divine Crusader tree? I think sacrificing enemies lives, for your god/personal gains fits thematic of "Liturgists" daggger, and goes hand in hand with Relentless Fury we already have on it. Or just some magnitude of vampirism would fit this item really well too.
