    Default Video issues getting worse

Hey! I wanted to post here just to see if anyone else had been having issues, or if it's hardware related on my end. I just got stuck in Stopping the Sahuagin on Korthos, like completely stuck display wise. My husband was in a part with me and when I was logged in, I could move around and use all my abilities and chat like normal, but my display was completely frozen. It started in the room with all the ice, and was stuck immediately upon log in, like I never was able to look around. He helped me navigate my way out of the room and I relogged, and it fixed itself only to break again as soon as I went back in the room. I ended up having to turn my Directx down to Dx9. This is the second time I've had to drop my DirectX down, I used to run on 11 but was having frequent crashes and going down to 10 helped.

I'm honestly at a loss as to whether this is software or hardware related. I do sometimes have issues in other games, but far and away I have the most problems with DDO. I crash at least 4 or 5 times per two hours of gameplay. Any thoughts?

My video card is a GTX 650 if that matters, I can post other specs as needed.

There is currently lots of lag occurring.

But, on the other hand, DDO was designed for DirectX 9 mainly, as far as I know. The only exception to this I know of are a few options in the graphics options menu.

Microsoft never tells players to use DirectX 9 with games that are relatively old and designed for DirectX 9. They seem to silently assume that everything might work well with DirectX 10 and higher, and if it doesn't customers are more likely to ask the developers, then. Not Microsoft, who have not shipped DirecX 9 with their operating systems for ages now.

So, to cut things short : It's probably lag, or whatever is causing this, but very likely not graphics problems.

My very personal solution is to simply do nothing while that lag lasts, because in my very personal opinion I believe that the PC just needs time to load everything. Standing stall has also the benefit of not accidentally run into a trap. The only drawback to this is that one canot know what happens meanwhile the lag occurs. Enemies approaching, but the graphics system is not displaying them yet ? A good hireling might take them out even before everything is correctly put on the display. That's the benefit of having a hireling, among others.
