We have been looking into game performance in recent weeks, and perhaps not surprisingly in recent days as well given the large number of people stopping by, and are currently looking at what our options are. We will let people know when we know more.

Maybe some separate resources to transfer raid instances there? Currently finishing raid even on normal or hard is like r500 ... and every day is much worse. :/

I saw the title of this thread and thought to myself: "there are lag issues?"
I'm playing on an 8 year old cheap laptop with a broken keyboard and extra lag from the USB keyboard.... still managing to cap out....

Yet again today a full grouped stopped moving for 30+ seconds. I am neither into blaming nor interested in technical reasons - but its hurting the fun of playing rather badly.

I don't think it's as pervasive a problem as some folks make it out to be. I too experience an acceptable amount of lag. But some folks are supposedly impacted greatly and to others any amount of lag is unacceptable.

People don't care what your standards are as far as "acceptable" goes, they care about their own standards. SSG has seriously decreased the amount of server resources they put towards powering instances, which has always resulted in locked up raids and now the problem has been persistently creeping into more and more explorer zones and standard quests. You can say "everything's fine, it's playable for me" all you want, but everyone I was playing with 6 months ago is gone now, mostly due to lag issues over last 6-7 months and lately last one was due to U45 nerfs.

While we're glad that you don't experience any lag, it doesn't negate other players' experiences.

(Side note: keyboard and mouse latency is not lag. Entire parties freezing for 30+ seconds in a quest and entire public instances locking up is.)

Last 2 weeks were such a nightmare lag wise I postponed my main TR spree.

But last 24 hours were good, suspiciously good.

This is because you are just an awesome person and therefore you can play DDO with a brick and it works just fine! (sarcasm alert is tingling)

    Default Serious Issue

    Hello.

I have been experiencing a serious issue about game freeze. When I force/kill the process, the frozen game window wraps anything else and doesnt even let me interact with windows. (Ctrl+alt+delete; alt f4 etc)

The only thing I can do most of the time, when this occurs, is to force windows with ctr alt delete then ctrl+esc and choose restart. (Most of the time I can not even do this becasue somehow dead game window does not let me to pick and kill itself. Also the icons and the background at desktop goes Giant sized) This is pretty annoying to say the least. Sometimes but rare the frozen game window let me pass and kill the process by its own.

This happened before 64 bit a long time ago when there was a big issue which locked the DDO for over a week's time. (as you may remember).

I really hope this is somehow fixed.

I'm sorry but I need to call BS...not necessarily you but whatever corporate is feeding you ...but like I said in other forum posts what was your excuse for crippling lag the previous 5 months? As for increase in logins...there were a lot more players in game when RL expansion shipped as well as when MOTU.

FIX THIS BROKEN GAME PLS. Best combat in any MMO, yet cookieclicker is more fun atm with the lag.

Lag has been an issue for many years now, and if it was an easy fix, I think the devs would have fixed it by now. The thing that amuses me is the people calling for server merges. The increased population at this time that is due to the freeplay is the perfect example why a server merge would be disaster and would likely make the game unplayable. This past weekend was almost a disaster for me, had multiple lag issues and deaths due to the lag, and even rubberbanding which I havent experienced in months. This game simply cannot handle too many players at one time. Old game code, sub par servers? I dont know, Im not a I.T. guy for SSG.

Love DDO but it has gotten progressively worse with the lag. It's completely unplayable at times. I just can't waste my time watching my character freeze and die non-stop. Do we know if something is being done?

Today I logged in for the first time in months to actually play a bit.
My guildies were raiding, should be fun.

We went in on Too hot to handle, lagged on the very first fight, couldn't move. We reset the instance.
Went in the second time, also insane lag, we reset the instance.
Went in the third time, lag was still there, but it wasn't too bad, but... We lagwiped because we couldn't do a single thing during the boss fight.
We decided to call it and move on to another raid.

Decided to run hard Killing Time because R1 was probably too much with this lag.
We ran through the raid, but had several phases where we could barely move. Stuttering all over the place.
In the end, we finished it. No challenge or fun at all, it was simply done on pure powercreep.

Such a fun game this is... Gosh.

Ae have had those issues for a good deal longer than a few weeks, so it predates the Covid-19 outbreak. While it may or may not be worse now please do not try to explain the issues thus.
