    Default Mark of Cannith Question

I haven't tried this yet, can someone who has post a definitive answer?

If I have an existing crafted item with something slotted in an Augment slot and I want to add another effect by applying a mark of cannith, does the item stay as is, including the slotted augment, and just add the third effect?

    Thanks in advance

yes. You will simply add the additional crafting option to the existing item.

Also, if you prepare and item for crafting Augments will remain as well.

Just want to confirm what Enoach said. Your augment will remain unchanged, whether filled or not, by applying a mark of cannith. It is perfectly safe.
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.

That's fantastic, thanks to you both for confirming!

Also, deconstructing an item with an augment slot will preserve the augment slot as well as any slotted augments.

Applying the extra slot will however bind the item to your character. Found that out the hard way when trying to make an unbound breastplate. Added Impulse, no problem, added Deathblock, no problem, added the cannith slot and bam, bound to character. Was yet another hidden trap that cost me literally hours of grinding.

It depends on the bind status of the mark of house cannith.. IIRC the ones you can purchase in game from the Cannith vendor are bound but the random drop and quest reward marks are unbound. On one of my accts I know I have two stacks of marks in the sharded bank, one BtA and one unbound.

I've made dozens of extra slot items and none of them are bound to character, either there is something else going on, or it's a relatively recent bug. (I haven't crafted anything in a couple months)

I crafted recently an unbound item with an extra slot recently. I can ensure you it is not bound.

There is nothing in today's cannith crafting that will bind an item to character. Everything is either unbound or bound to account. There must be something else that has caused the item to become bound to character.
