Default Manyshot vs MoM vs 10k Stars

Showing once again that ddo hates bow users, I recently compared these three feats.

    Manyshot/Multitude of Missiles/10k Stars

    Duration: 20/20/30

    Cooldown: 2 min/2 min/1 min

    Doubleshot: 120/100/monk lv*5

    Ranged Power: 4*BAB/2*BAB/Wis score

Prereq: PBS, Rapid Shot, BAB 6+, Dex 17+/PBS, BAB 6+/monk 6, Dex 13+

Does any one of these seem a bit sub-par to the others considering what it costs to get?
Maybe we could lower the dex requirement on manyshot? I would think you would need more dexterity to quickly handle a bunch of small sharp stars than arrows.

Well, you forgot that ranger level 6 gets manyshot for free, whether she has requirements or not.

So throw 6 levels of ranger in any build and get manyshot for free.

OK, that IS significant requirement, but IMHO less painful than selecting feats, and yes, there are LOTS of pros/cons to getting 6 levels of ranger.

In a way (have not played monk yet).

Ranger always gets that feat at level 6, requirements or no, plus any other feats (for example, pure ranger would also get regular feat of choice at level 6). And if I got it right, monk has to take stars as bonus feat.

I know there are tons of issues in this part, just wanted to point out there is alternative way to get manyshot to collecting feats.

First of all the range of throwing weapons should be shorter. Secondly accuracy of bows should be the best of all ranged weapons.

For Stonger and More accurate to Weaker and less accurate a true balance could be:

Short range and AOE effects: Smaller melee weapons> Two handed Melee>CC spells>Throwing(Big new throwing weapons such as Javelins would add damage at this range) >Greatcrossbow (but also has CC) and Bows>Smaller crossbows

Long range and speed No AOE: Bows>Ray spells>Greatcrossbow>Smaller crossbows(losing accuracy and damage)> New Throwing weapons such as javelins (but losing some damage and speed)

Mid Range and AOE effects: Bows>Two handed melee (would add +w damage at reach) and Greatcrossbow and Javelins>Burst spells that require bypassing high saves>Smaller crossbows>Throwing

10KS > MS > MoM by uptime and scaling in vacuum, what makes MoM builds lot ahead is Simple Thrown Expertise, same deal with Shuriken Expertise (+ Ninja Training).

Base profile sync is not great post enhancements and gear. Very easy to build for large base damage no matter the low initial weapon dices, leg weapons make it even less so relatively. Crit rate tends to favor throwers too.

I personally dont think d2, d4 1h simple throwing weapons should be strictly superior dps to d8 2 handed martial weapons but... this is DDO, enjoy the weird :P
