Default Devs don't want my money???

hi there, now that i got your attention, why the hell we still have to run around in huge areas like sands of menechtarun without a porter option?

i mean, many people would gladly pay shards to get a fast port to lets say chains of flame or kings forest.

and we waited long years now just to get a shard porter for -hell- wheloon thats really no big thing to run... why not all areas, im sure you could net out plenty money with that!

i know it wont happen but i just got annoyed again by running the whole desert AGAIN^^

think about it, im sure it would be worth it!

You could get 20 feathers and turn them in for a horse in Keep on the Border...
It basically doubles running speed. Menechtarum is huge and I usually skip the Chains of Flame quest (That monstrosity takes too long to run, in my humble opinion) but everything else is a minute or two by horse.

Not the solution you're looking for, I know, but until and unless they give 'porters to get you out there sooner, horses are a more efficient way to go than foot.

Since Shadowfell most larger explorer areas got some sort of porting. Maybe when they remake sands as they did to catacombs but I do believe it will take time until they revisit it. Without any relevant drop nowdays( do anyone still uses torc?) it is still one of must have packs. Also with mounts we may see a decrease on porters so mounts can have more value. Dont know, only future will tell.

I will never pay a single shard for a 1-time teleport, but I would pay vast sums to unlock teleport. This is why I was perfectly ready to shell out the obscene 2995 points for the back that gave each character a horse: it was a 1-time fee. I bought the largest expansions for Ravenloft and Sharn specifically because they included teleport items.

I'd buy a pack that was just "all the teleport NPCs will take you places for free!" in a heartbeat.

Most Packs either have a shard cost teleport (stormhorns), free teleport (either unlocked like gianthold or thunderholme, or always open like ravenloft), or are relatively small and/or quick to get to the quests (ataraxia). Sands is one of the major exceptions, and even it's a pretty quick run to the majority of the content, with the exception being chains of flame.

Keep on the Borderlands has horses, farm one up.

Should probably make that "most relatively new packs". Sands does not, Shroud does not. The AS teleporters are BS cash-grabs and should not exist(and don't for anyone with half a brain). KotB, the horses don't mean much since the quests aren't that far from the entrance and are all helpfully clustered together, but are a godsend elsewhere. Sharn was EXCELLENT by having all of the quests be in a relatively small area using either the same or very close-by access. Ravenloft's free teleport NPCs are the best thing to happen to the game since... ever.

The real question is: can we ever get the devs to go back and add similar functionality to the older content?

Its a frustrating catch-22: its not worth dev time because so few people run the content; and so few people run it because its such a PITA to get out to.
