    Default 64 bit client immediate crash, display goes technicolor?

    Hi! So, getting back in since there's a 64 bit client now. But I can't seem to run it?

    I make sure it's in the options, hit the server, and the game doesn't even load. It just makes my screen go all technicolor. I have to change the display or reboot my computer to fix it.

    Anyone know what's going on? Please help!

    I'm having a similar issue, except the game runs fine.

    When I exit the game, my desktop is Technicolor. Only way to fix it is a restart.

    Is your video card made by nVidia and are you running the nVidia display software?

    If so, look for a post made by Cordovan that describes a workaround that fixes this issue. It only works with nVidia stuff, though.

    I don't have a link but the workaround was posted shortly after the 64-bit client was released. Check out the Dev Tracker and you should eventually find it.

    This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

    It also worked with my amd radeon graphic card.
    Just awestruck, whether it be a Dragon flying overhead Stormreach, that glowing character who just zoomed in'n'out of the Pub or that I can drink a Beholder under the table and best of all rescuing Damsels in distress.

    Character. Alivef was 1 x heroic completionist now I need Alchemist (+I have few more heroic pl's) 1 x epic completionist, 1 iconic Shadar Kai x 3. Gnome+Drow x3 racial pl's.
    Server Thelanis x

    I had a similar problem on a Windows 10 computer with Intel motherboard graphics. I reinstalled the DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables and the 64-bit client worked. Strange that reinstalling them worked, since I know both had already been installed on that computer a while ago - like when I first installed DDO. I had to use the compatibility troubleshooter and run DDO in Windows 8 compatibility mode to fix the screen turning mostly blue problem.

    The 64-bit client is beta software, which means it may be less reliable/have more bugs than the 32-bit client.

    DirectX redistributable - https://download.microsoft.com/downl...010_redist.exe
    Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8328
