It's actually significantly more than that, as they keep flipping it on and off to let people transfer. Seems like last time it was up another 4-5 weeks after it was officially over.

I really don't think we're going to see as many people participating this time. For several factors.

    1) People getting completionist w/ Alchemist

    2) U45 in general, includes anniversary event

    3) Too soon

    3) Less interest

But don't let all that stop the doom & gloom threads. What would these boards look like without them?

I really liked that part. More daily dice to feed to my character for skipping levels 1 and 2 after a TR.

This wasn't intended as a doom and gloom thread - it felt too quick too me and I was curious what others thought. I may opt out this hardcore season or participate on a more limited basis - not because of any sort of protest, but just for the simple reason I have too many things going on and can't put my time into both servers.

I voted yes but my real answer is they should have waited longer. HCL seems like a once year event (like Mabar or Festivault). With a 3 month window that still makes it run a 1/4 of the year. Are they planning to run this twice a year and have HCL up half of the time in a year? Too much for me. I will log on to HCL for the daily rolls in case something interesting pops up but that is it.

Not soon enough IMO. Should be a permanent thing.

I thought Lammania was there to collect data …

Lammania's job is to bug-check and collect early player feedback, not to collect data on class balancing.

Although considering how many bugs make it to live and how irritated players have been lately with the changes, it's safe to say it's not doing its job.

I will drop a character onto it for gold rolls and hopefully another Elieri. I only want to run HC about once per year.

With or without the anniversary event.

I would also have liked some warning so that I could plan my life and my free time.
(would also mean being able to spend more money)

I wish I had the free time to participate in a shorter HC.... but if it was just 60 days I probably would not even start...

Just to chime in with my two cents, I'd say the Hardcore league should be twice year, of an approximately six week duration. If it is going to be "hardcore", then I should think that the challenge should be time-based; and I think twelve weeks is two "casual" a time frame. (… "Know what I mean?")

I think everyone is jumping to conclusions - you can't tell a "pattern" of 2 different things. I think they will probably switch the league to the spring, but rather than waiting an entire year, they are doing it now. My hope is that they will simply run it at this time every year and won't do it again in the fall.

Wasnt S1 put up during Night Revels? Seems like they're purposely timing them to conflict with annual Events...

Maybe they think that will help hold players on the Live servers?

I didn't vote because I feel the same. This is way, way too soon. Mid-March would still be way too soon.

This ^^ would make it basically a normal server again. With Permadeath rules but yea, after a while it would be Wayfinder 2.0
