Better Silver Flame special ability

Right now the Banish special that followers of the Silver Flame is among the worst of the L6 specials, which is especially acute because its also the Bow church, and bows still need a lot of love.

I'd like to see a much more broadly useful offensive ability for Flame followers. They're supposed to be the inquisitor church - purging the world of darkness and evil and all who oppose the Flame. Here's what I suggest:

Rain of Flame, or Baptism by Fire.

Holy fire falls from the heavens to smite your enemies. For the next 20 seconds, your offensive spells and Favored Weapon attacks have a % chance equal to your number of Religious Lore feats to do 1d6 per character level as Good and 1d6 as Light to all enemies nearby to your target (circular AOE). This damage scales 100% by your highest Spellpower.

10 min CD, like other Deity feats.

I would hope this should be fairly easy to implement since its very similar to other on-hit effects like Meteoric Ruby, and would immediately improve the lot of Silver Flame adherents

Should have mentions in the Warpriest update too somewhere..


Any of these would work better than current:

• Much higher base DC, eg: 20 + Character Level + WIS or CHA mod (highest) + Abjuration Focus ( to work in current high level content when geared ). For a 10 minute CD it should do something for bosses additionally.
• A toggle to imbue your weapon
• A damage based spell, like in OP
