What devs say and what devs mean are 2 different things.

I haven been raising heffle on the forum about the lack of dps for 2hf and the utter mess melee is in for a long whille now, it took m a year to admit ranged builds were overpreforming compared to melee, something they could have found out by making an endgame reaper farm toon and trying to join those.
Would have cost them an hour tops.

Because the Negative Nellies are dominating the forums just like in very successful MMO's. Most people are having a ton of fun and playing the game and a small subset of people who will never be happy for long are *****ing up a storm about anything they can think of to try to make the game look bad.

That's pure World of Warcraft territory.
There are always those people like this who I like to call "company men". No matter what the company does, they give a 2 thumbs up! Reminds me of those 3 monkeys, hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil :-)

If they play it right, maybe a Bezos or a Sultan of Brunei will become their sponsor, and eventually, sole DDO player. And then, DDO will make history as the first 1 person MMO.

Apply the marketing double-speak: Satisfaction has increased to 83.3% - they must be doing very well at this point.

Since the increase in satisfaction its only a small subset who complain.

"Doing well" is marketing speak, and it doesn't say anything specific. In my life Ive been in multiple meetings where executives claim to the stake holders that the company is "doing well" shortly after laying off 75% of the workforce.

What the players call doing well and what the employees call doing well are two different things. I see alot more posts by players regarding head count retention for instance.

Why is this important to understand?

Because the current monetizing model is not tethered to headcount in a linear fashion.

Financially they can be DoingWell™ while headcount continues to attrite. To the majority of players (not the payers, the PLAYERS) grouping issues continue to increase as headcount shrinks and the player base is divided up even more with level cap increases and HC seasons. But hey, if this causes the market audience (the big spenders) to overspend to "win" the HC "competition" as well as spend to lessen the grind in whatever new grind system is shoe horned into the new levels, then that can be spun as DoingWell™

Lol depends, with a good build and top end gear its now almost possible to get on the kill scoreboard with a bow ranger. My ranger shocked all my guildies last night by actually scoring more kills than my hire! Therefore bow rangers were obviously over buffed with the ranged pass and need nerfing lol.

    this, 100% agree.

and a "vocal minority" of pesky complainers is born.
