Umm.... nope. two of us are 26, one is 25, the other was 21. We had an L25 owlbear hireling and an L20 Onyx panther hireling.

So, it appears to be broken.

The few who maintain the primary, go-to source (DDO Wiki) have done an exceptional job over the years. Thank you, truly.
Trying to maintain a dynamic database as large as this one, almost 14 years of data in one spot, is an amazing undertaking and no one (two, three, ten) people will catch everything. The responsibility is in the hands of the one who finds the change in information.

(This goes for me- I've been avoiding editing the Wiki myself. I shudder at the thought of putting bad gouge out there.)

Hi Jerevth and thank you for the reply. I have already checked that link - you'll note that the highlighted section suggests 10 favors at 2-4 levels above. We are running 3 levels above and only getting 7 party favors. The math does not add up. Hence, it is broken. Heck, even 1 level above should be getting us 8 favors and we are only getting 7.

EDIT:...or are you suggesting that this is the new norm and all previous sources of party favor information are now obsolete and incorrect?

    Neither,
I actually only wanted to hook Clemeit's How-to for Wiki edits and give them (Those who do keep the wiki valid) a little praise.
The thread is about the wiki missing a shift in the anniversary's updates compared to the previous anniversary.

The broken favor aspect deserves its own thread to bring it to the Devs' attention directly and not risk it being missed as off-topic in the discussion over who ought to maintain the DDO Wiki.

First, my personal quirks compel me to point out that if you're going to use words like "hence", then your logic should aspire to be as particular as your vocabulary.

You are only getting 7 party favors, hence something is off. Could be the quest has been intentionally changed (with no announcement), could be the code got tweaked accidentally, could be your assessment of your party level is not as sure as you think, could be... a lot of things.

    However, that admitted quibble aside...

I can confirm that, when this year's anniversary first ran, those values were correct - 10 tokens for running +3 levels above, and 12 max at +5 above. (This is reflected in other posts discussing the "+30% challenge weekend", where +5 levels gave 15 tokens (12 + 3.6 = 15.6 rounded down to = 15, etc.)

No idea about "norm", but, intentionality and the future state not withstanding, it does seem to be how it's working at the moment.

To check(!), I ran the challenge with a Level 5 party at Challenge Level 8, and a Level 7 party at CL 10 - and both times got 7 tokens.

Hence... now we can say, something is definitely up on the game side. Either this is the new math, or the code is off.

Note going to edit the Wiki until "Which?" is made clear (or some time passes - short-term Wiki edits are not highly productive).

If memory serves, when the event was running earlier this year it coincided with a bonus time that increased party favors.

You do understand that the wiki page was accurate when it was written. The event has changed since then.

Accusing someone of posting misinformation is just wrong.

While I am (unfortunately) among the first to get defensive about the Wiki, in this case it ~might~ be a justified criticism. I'm not sure how the 14th anni' edition got created (without going back over the saved edits) - if some over-enthusiastic editor simply copy/pasted it wholecloth from the 13th, without checking (which is highly discouraged), then it might have indeed been a description of the previous year, sans changes.

This is certainly not common practice, but it happens - we try to catch it asap, but it can't be helped, unfortunately. It's similar to the first reply to a forum question being dead wrong - if the OP goes on that, they're going on bad info, despite the best intentions, accuracy, and vocal corrections of any subsequent posts. Likewise, it often takes more than Day 1 for the Wiki to get accurate, and we, the editing body as a whole, can only helplessly apologize. <shrugs>

What's time-consuming is all that "checking" process. That's why I never enter information about values into the Wiki. I just can't check everything. I'm even utterly surprised how people come to these values with the Wiki ! Damage, DR, MR or traps, MR of monsters, against what monsters are immune to, against what monsters are vulnerable to, at what values skill checks work (diplomacy, intelligence runes, disarming traps), what kinds of events are triggerst with what kind of behaviour ... I'm surprised that some people are able to do all of these checks. I can't and I won't, because of my Dyscalculia.

So, if someone feels free to check what has changed in terms of mechanics - non-mechanics are OF COURSE NEVER recorded ! As if the WHOLE game consisted of NOTHING BUT mechanics ! - so, if someone wants to check what has changed in values and mechanics - you can do so. I can't.

And yes, it always surprised me - on the other hand it does no more these days - how much mechanics are favoured over the looks of the dungeons. As I found in another MMO : People basically want nothing but long, colourless tunnels made of concrete through which they can zerg/race and which have a chest at the end of them.

This favouring of technical parts over everything is something I have often found in Wikipedia as well . At one point it just baffled me in how much detail program versions of certain software was recorded - meanwhile I found so many articles about sociology being a mere "stub".

My guess is that the more technology interested people are also the most people working with Wikis in general.

There is no worldly entity more deserving of adoration, respect, and blind devotion than the DDO wiki. I say this with absolute sincerity. Anyone who would speak of the wiki or any of its maintainers without pure deference can only do it through a lack of understanding. If the wiki said Chilldude is ugly and his momma dresses him funny, my only possible response would be, "Nice one wiki! You really got me with that one."

I find the overwhelming majority of the content on the wiki to be correct. On the rare occasion the wiki conflicts with what I'm experiencing in game I tend to assume the game is bugged. For example in this case, I found the party favor rewards to be exactly what the wiki stated them to be... INITIALLY. However, the party event didn't close down the day it was supposed to, and I noticed that although it remained open, the party favor rewards were not in line with the wiki or what they had previously been. Since it wasn't supposed to be there at all, and probably not for long, there wasn't much point in figuring out the cause of the discrepancy. When they brought the party event back I feel like I remember doing it a couple times and the party favor rewards were restored to what they initially were, matching the data in the wiki. I'm not positive about that though.

I just ran the event at 35 with a level 30 character and only got 8 party favors, so it's either bugged or they purposefully lowered the favor rewards because they brought it back for an entire month.

    Default Party Favors Adjusted

Hey folks, everyone should now be seeing the expected number of party favors returned on all servers. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!

I was having a similar issue. Soloing it at character level 22 on difficulty level 22, I was receiving 5 favors (1 per star). If I bumped up to difficulty level 23, I was getting 6 favors.
