Fresh install....black screen upon loading.

So I'm trying to come back after several years of not playing and installed the game on my PC....which has not had a previous DDO install. Installation works fine, 12 GB of data downloaded, and I get the login screen. After selecting my server, sometimes the character select screen will show up and sometimes it will just be a black screen.

And when the character select screen comes up and I do select a character, it goes black and I don't see anything but I can hear music playing. Has this black screen ever been addressed or fixed? Kind of makes it hard to get into the game again when it just goes black.

Yes, my video drivers are up to date, yes I have whitelisted the directory on my AV and firewall and still cannot get connected properly.

Anyone have any ideas?

Known Issue: Black Screen With Visible UI: Some Intel users may find that when DirectX 10 is enabled, only their UI is visible and the rest of their screen is black. If this occurs, we recommend you disable DX10, enable DX9, and restart the game client.

Thanks for the info. I saw that notice but since it mentioned the UI is visible I didn't think it related to my issue. But I'll try to disable DX 10 and only use DX 9 and see if it comes up.
