    Default Epic DC

    I haven't done epics in quite a while. What are the dc's I should be obtaining for meteor swarm and dbfb to hit consistently at levels 20,25, and 30 in low skull reaper? Also what is a decent spell power number at those levels?

    Older content is probably no fail sharn content they really raised the bar

    Not sure bout the spells but drac abilities like eb db probly 120 is what you want to aim for minimum

    Does it really work like that? Always thought that high vs low was a smaller range, but coming after a long break and haven't taken a caster yet into end game sharn+ content. That said, partially effective holds and half damage meteors is far from SP efficient and dangerous in high reapers unless the party doesnt really need your CC. Few players have taken the time to have 5 piece LGS ender sets for the HP and instakill procs to make up for DC shortcomings. Those aiming to be effective no-fail CC do have high DC goals.

Not all mobs follow this, some of the mobs in Sharn+ content have moderate to high saves accross the board. I think it has to do with how the mobs were built. The archers seem to have been built as fighter (high fort)/sometimes also artificer with runearm (high will)/rogue (high reflex and evasion) multiclasses, and as such use the high save equation for fort/reflex and sometimes also will for their saves.

    I've seen a fair number of saves on boosted to over 150 DC to Finger of Death in Sharn. This is not with Despair Reaper save boosts,but multiple attempts at FoD so unlikely they were rolling all 20s on their save check. It does seem that monsters get extra save boost against death spells.

    I found 93 DC meteor (evo augmentation twisted) and ~900 SP wipes out group scaled mobs in Sharn R7 quickly. It is about 1.5 DCs and 50 spell power per skull, so R1 would be around 81 DC and around 600 spell power. Epic abilities are around +15 or so, so 108 ish for R7, 96ish for R1.


    It's not really about the DCs and spell power as much as knowing when and how to go in and drop your nukes so you don't die. Meteor has a lot of damage even on save from bludgeoning and half fire remaining parts and a lot of spell power from maximize/empower.

    My evo on my ice sorc for general spells is 103 and fails all the time on r10. Got enough reaper point to fill spell dc stuff , missing 2 sorc lives and racial and heroic past life’s . I was talking to another sorc on my server that has 114, not sure how he does it with out being in draconian tree. Perhaps they run in magister . Tip would be Appciated

    The DCs in Sharn are truly absurd. My 1st Life (zero PL, zero ETR) sorc has around 90 Evocation outside reaper and at L30, the HEROIC archer mobs in Sharn will sometimes save and take zero damage. In LE Sharn, there's no hope of hitting an archer with anything but Polar Ray -- they all have crazy reflex and evasion. Add in a liberal sprinkling of Champions and there will often be a couple critters in every pack that can't be nuked down with anything but no-save spells.

    IMHO, this is basic game design failure for certain classes to be shut out of combat this way, but it is the way the game works and if you go pure blaster with no other damaging options, you're going to be shut out of Sharn.

    Other options I've used:
    • Polar Ray -- can one-shot things (or nearly) if you're cold-spec'd.
    • EK + Melee -- if you've played melee before, you can SLOWLY kill with melee + Spellsword
    • DOT & Kite -- it's slow (Eladar's & the like are v.poor DPS), but it works
    • AE "Pulse" Spells -- very slow/bad dps (ice-storm, wall, etc), but works with kiting


    Also, every time I try to level in Draconic it doesn't work out. Crit-chance sub-29 will gives less dps and DCs are too low resulting in more casting that chews up SP. It doesn't matter that 1/3 of the pack died the first time if you have to cast 3 more times anyway to deal with the savers. Fatesinger is the best for me sub-29: efficiency is incredible due to the extra power and free metas, but if Ineed more DCs to stick Hold, only Magister can provide them (though it kills DPS).
