Default The Harrying Barbarian - Dungeon Alert for the Dungeoned

We can make melee harder to hurt, we can make them harder to hit, but what if we made melee make monsters hit less?

    Introducing Reverse Dungeon Alert!

Every time a PC attacks a monster with a melee weapon, it gets one stack of Harried. Each stack has 6 seconds duration, each PC can apply it once every 6 seconds, and each stack reduces outgoing damage, attack speed, and movement speed by 10% to a maximum of 50%.

As one that is not a fan of how "alert" is implemented as I see it punishing those in the back that didn't create it far more then punishing the one that caused it, I can't bring myself to like this as an idea on principle.

Now I do think melee need more combat tactic options

Such as Bull Rush and Grapple to name a few.

what is missing is monster morale. When a party is destroying mobs, the remaining mobs should bolt. I have no idea where they get the courage to fight to the death when there is 1) no chance in hell they will win and 2) they have typically nothing they are fighting for. the Intimidate should be rethought as something to decrease monster morale, not increase threat to one person. It makes no sense. Perform ought to draw someone to you, not intimidate. Utterly nonsensical.

then you can make more interesting dungeons and mob responses. A champ could be immune to moral issues and also buff the morale to those around it.
