    Default 5 Paladin / 1 Rogue / 14 Ranger TWF Build Help

    Howdy everyone, currently on my Warlock life and I wanted to switch it up for my next go, I was thinking of running a khopesh TWF with 5 paladin, 14 ranger and 1 rogue. Rogue for trapping obviously. I was thinking of doing 14 paladin and 5 ranger instead for holy sword but I realized deepwood can fulfill that function and I wouldn't really get to use holy sword until near epics. Build is below, would appreciate any sort of advice as this was literally just a night time rave through the character planner.

    You will need to add the ranger levels early to get the crit threat/multiplier as they are both level 12 cores in DWS and Tempest at this time. So if you add in a level of rogue early on then level 13 will be the earliest.

    Also, if youre taking tier 5 in tempest you wont have the AP to cover the spread until level 15-16.

    Another thing to keep in mind is the Ranger free TWF feats are all in place at Ranger level 11.

    Default Bows and Any type of Melee and its worth at Tactical Gameplay

    Hello. Not to sound a jack ass. Just my humble opinion as on old timer Multiclass builds fan. Your build sounds cool, anyhow

    I struggled myself for creating TWF but also beefy and offensive S&B builds in the past. There is age/era/meta gaming at DDO and it keeps changing. The words below are true.

    Melee is not really at a good place right now. Swapping tactics and keeping distance beats pure melee dps.

    You can swap feats at Fred but once you set class based set you can not easily change the pieces of the puzzle. It is not worth the dime. Anyhow as a Rogue;

    Pure Rogue Mechanic or Mechanic with a couple levels of Fighter works better. You may add one level of Barb for +%10 movement speed or not. Anyhow not enough AP for the enhancements. At first glance it has lower general saves and hitpoints, but...

    I can assure you that Human (Aasimar, Drow, Halfling,Gnome are other options) Pure rogue with item support and extra rogue skills at feats and rest in to Ranged and Crossbow focus works very good with item support for saves, extra hp, ghostly/blurry, UMD.

    Ranger and Paladin melee and ranged enhancement trees vs Rogue Melee and Ranged enhancement trees:

    You can keep the ranged feats same to shoot npcs and can still melee with nasty aoe trips with acrobat by simply swapping rogue enhancement with platinum. Ranger ranged is not worth it right now. TWF and all non shield/beefy builds do not have enough durability at close ranged unless the player sticks to playing only at normal and hard mode. (You may survive with very good luck and with thousands of potions at every single encounter at each quest but compared to crossbow ranged it really is not worth the time)

    There will be times you will suffer similar to melee but you will have many tricks under the robes that can be swapped very easy with a intelligence/dexterity based character. Plain and simple. Greatcrossbow hit and run and spray and alchemical traps aoe nasty effects; swap at will for melee mode with nasty Staff attacks. Not only dps but pure tactical gameplay and dps the same time.

    It is very hard to change a pure melee or pure caster build (Most casters other than Pure Sorcerer and Pure FVS also get stuck. Warlock has nice twists anyhow, again as pure class)

    I beg your pardon if it sounds out of the Paladin/Ranger and multiclass build. Anyhow it is one of the builds that actually functions as if a multiclass build. (Inquisitive, Vistani, Artificer, Pure rogue with combos or pure trees based on ranged feats and swappable enhancement trees for ranged/melee/casting abilites)

    My humble dirty pieces of eight.

    There is an old build called NoYellowBar which was ranger 15 / paladin 4 / fighter or rogue 1, IIRC. It predates the ranger pass, so the deep paladin splash added Divine Might, defensive stance, etc. The buffs to Knight of the Chalice in update 45 might make it interesting again.

    ETA: here's the thread.
