This quest was a terror years ago, so many wipes in that second courtyard upon entering it at first.

I usually take out that beholder by running back to the corridor stretching back from the entrance to the beholder room, go right to the back where the door is covered in a force field, hug the wall, aggro the skellies with missile weapons then target the beholder and take him down with missiles also. He seems a little bugged in that he just sits there and spouts insults at you while being turned into a pincushion.
