    Default Mounts in Inns

Last night I was in the Blood on the Vine Inn and someone came in on a mount riding around. Is this a bug? I checked the forums but didn't see a post about it. I'm not against mounts in the game, but not automatically being dismounted when entering an indoor area is odd. I noticed in today's downtime notes they indicate fixing some mount animations. I hope being mounted in an indoor area is part of the animation fix.

It should be fine to ride them in, but the only response you can get from the bar-tender is "So, why the long face?"

I would rather not see mounts in taverns either, but the two responses above did make me laugh.
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

There should probably be a flag like `allowMounts` on each wilderness and public zone, which would control whether or not mounts were allowed; by deafult, this would be set to true, but for indoor areas and wildernesses (such as the house C manufactuery) it would be set to false.

It would also be nice if certain outdoor quests and raids, like "end of the road", allowed horses - just a little extra flavor!
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.
Feature wishlist: colour-coded HP bars; red/blue teams in raids; rez-timer in party menu

I completely agree. Not only does it seem inappropriate, there is a practical issue of people crowding around important NPCs (quest givers, vendors, etc.) with mounts and completely obscuring them from view. Mounts need wide open spaces.

There are a couple Bankers that jump immediately to mind (HoH, House C Crafting Hall) - currently often crowded, and with horses only worse. :/

I hope its set up this way. Certain Highroad quests, Stormcleave Outpost (especially on the return), Red Willows Ruins (again the return to the NPC), Gwylan's Stand possibly, A Small Problem if you fell and have to get back up to the jumping area fast... well certain outdoor quests could benefit from the occasional use of a steed.

At this time it is intended that players may use mounts in all public areas and wilderness adventure areas. This includes taverns and spaces that are visually indoors. That is working as currently intended.

Pls reconsider. Inns, Guild ships, shops, do we really need this?

    Cheers,
    Titus.

That tiny tent in Threnal is already kinda bad as it is. Can't wait to see it when someone decides to pop in on horseback.

I'm guessing the code doesn't (easily) support distinctions between a public area and a tavern in that public area. If that's so, then there is nothing to reconsider, it just is what it is. :/

I'm really hoping that's not the case but... this is DDO, you are probably right.

Please ignore this response, many of us do not mind and would like it to stay, because it is fun
