Lots of benefits for a variety of options. Warforged is great for self healing and for immunities. +Cha races are obviously good. Tiefling is great for fire sorcerers. If you are doing Tiefling, just run Fire because of that nice Scorch feature while you’re waiting to hit 20 and get the Sorc capstone.

Final thought: what’s the best race for Sorcerer? Any of them. Seriously, Sorc is in a great place right now. Both in heroic and Epic.

Some folks prefer the speed of Indy races, but I like the down-home feel of dirt track Sprints.

I prefer the Dragonborn over Tiefling and definitely over Drow, out of +Cha races, but Tiefling is solid and has that cool added feature have two spellpowers off of one

Depends on the final spec IMO;

For nukers, Dragonborn is pretty much given, For DC casters I prefer Aasimar, this allows one to run in Magister and still have a source of backup healing.

For non minmaxers Sun Elf has some decent QoL;

If HELF gets any updates ever, it may be cool for Air Savants again. Probably need a couple of Electrict Casting Levels at least like Dragonborn.

Power of the Storm: Greater Dragonmark activate: Your attacks gain Shocking, +25 Electrical Spell Power, and you gain 10 temporary spell points any time you take electrical damage from a spell. You also gain +2 bonus to Reflex save, but suffer a -2 penalty to Caster Levels of Earth spells and -2 to your Fortitude Saves. This effect lasts for 2 seconds per point of Concentration skill you have. (Cooldown: 1 minute)

And of course each that grants a PL: CHA is on RTR is going to be good long term.

I think different races have different benefits. Even as a Sorcerer the question is what build and what focus.

Charisma races have a DC advantage
Human has a Feat advantage
Gnome has a UMD and racial access to a form of CC as well a permanent Blur (saves on spell slots)

WF/BF have some advantages beyond self healing and are in a good place for a Melee focus as well

I think in the end the question of "best race" for a sorcerer depends on what build you are going for and if you have the resources such as racial AP to spend in the tree for these benefits.

Dragonborn is the younger brother of that build, but can go a diff color to match your preferred Savant choice.

Drow is F2P, +Cha for +1 DC, and can add light (or even medium) armor to the mix for survivability. (Also can go shortsword + shield for some melee fun in between spells, +Int adds a skill point, and +Dex never hurts.)

Human adds a Feat for extra early juice - blast'em!

WF/BF is self-healer w/ Repair/etc.

Aasiamr In bond of the protector gets extra charisma self heals spell points spell pen racial hit point boost and other defenses.

Tiefling gets early fire immunity breaking.

Savant trees are very bad and expensive trees. I would rather spend the majority of my points in a good racial tree and E.K. and no more than 11 in a savant tree so that leans me twoard tiefling and fire spell specialization.

But building like that leans me more toward warforged because the only realy good thing about the savant trees is the capstone and those kill most of the point of being a warforged sorcerer.

All that said my current sorcerer is a dragon marked halfling because meta magics work on jurasco dragon mark healing. This is a soloing in mind build though.

So in my opinion 3 very good races and many good races with only dwarf and half elf being meh and half orc and shadar kai being silly but fun flavor.
