I'm hoping they leave it at reporting from lvl 2. I think it was supposed to be only from lvl 10+.

It's just nice to realise that I'm not the only one who sucks on occasion!

I haven't died yet. However. I was in a full group doing R1 level 2 quests. We were mostly level 4. The group leader was very happy, excited, and all around good spirits. We stepped in Kobold New Ringleader and he died within 15 seconds.

It has been a while since I laughed as hard as I did. You know, one of those laughs where you try to stop and just become louder as a result.

It wasn't laughing at player. It was laughing at the mechanic of the server. Knowing a reroll is the only option got me laughing once I witnessed the reality of the situation.

I understand the rage moments, and the imminent frustrations players will have. But you have to see the humor and fun in all of this. The Harecore server is full on entertainment. Hilarious till the end.

    Default Wosrt death

At the end of elite ww5 and the quest is over, xp awarded, and for some reason, the warlock opens a door with the kobold shaman. The other healer and I are in the process of FOing and some distance away (out of sight) and it's too late. Warlock dead, shazam, lightning bolt.

Naturally, two other characters go over to help (non-permadeath instincts I guess) and ka-ping, ka-pow, lightning bolted. By this time, I'm out, and as dead is dead there's no reason to investigate and if it's one-shotting toons that are investigating, well, no thanks. The party leader is next, gets incapped and the other healer and I head back in and get (heal) him from -8. One dead kobold champ, three (nearly 4) dead party members all out of post-quest curiosity.

    Take-aways:
    1. Post-quest optional investigations alone, bad.
    2. Kobold champ shamans at low level, bad.
    3. If you ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let 'em go, because man, they're gone.

Edit: wrote this before i had coffee. I know how to spell worst.

I finally died last night at level 4 due to me being an idiot. For whatever reason I was in Recovering the Lost Tome and thought the trapped chest went off upon open, not when getting near it. I had a rogue hireling to try to disable the trap and was getting too close, poof, that's the run.

Next up trying an artificer so the traps will be my job.

What class were you running, and how did you navigate the lightning trapped, knee-deep, water corridor on the way to the lever?
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

Cleric, War Domain working into Radiant Servant. I had Resist Energy, so that was enough, plus I was able to hit the runes, which makes most of that lightning a non-issue.

Ah right. My barb didn't have the intel to hit the runes. Never thought to have my L3 cleric try.

I've tried this twice and died once, other rogue died the second time as well. We are having trouble timing this. Where do you stand? Should we move closer to the wall and use the rune? The time it takes to activate we keep getting hit. zZap

I thought, for almost 10 years now, that off to the sides you were safe from the lightning traps. Oh sure, you might get hit on your way trying to get under cover of the low ceiling side alcoves, but once in there I always thought it was safe. However this time I was actually standing well inside the alcove after having fought an undead or two, for several seconds, about to start heading out (already made it to the lever and was on my way out) when I got nailed by two lightning strikes in a row.

Level 5 Elf Cleric death domain - 1st Quest in the Catacombs on R1 solo. Trapped in the caged room with a Soul of Ice that get a hit with the dot before I turned him. At 60 a tic I just could not keep up to negate. Died trying to run to the exit screaming in horror

Yeah. I think at higher levels, such dots are going to be the worst; when you can see the writing on the wall and are just trying everything... anything to survive the inevitable.

I'm having a blast so far! Sure, I've died a few, but that makes it even more fun.

LvL 5, champs in Where There's Smoke on R1
LvL 6, held during end fight of STK p2 on Elite
LvL 5, 2 plague reapers The Smuggler's Warehouse on R1

Lessons learned/remembered! Currently, I'm level 7, almost 9, with 2 reaper pts and all quests completed up to the level 3s and almost done with the 4s. So much fun!

For me, the best part of this is the density of the population. I've never seen so many toons in Korthos, Harbor, and Market! Reminds me somewhat of the early days of the game.

In case I haven't mentioned this enough, I am super super enjoying this event!

Not dead yet, level 5, ready for 6 ... but ... I am up to seeing 4 dead in my parties so far.

Latest this morning was fire trap in STK, rogue did the traps and then was, uh, doing something I did not see and was dead.
