Default Where is this lever? And what does it do?

After clearing out the kobold infestation in Stealthy Repossession (after grabbing the Eye, of course) I went looking for collectables. When I got this lever in the focus orb, I thought it was one of the levers on the upper level.

However, when I went up the ramp while keeping the lever in the focus orb, it's now downstairs.

By triangulation, it looks like the lever is in the black area outside the quest map. So where is it really, and what does it do?

Just hopped into the dungeon space and you're right - it's definitely a lever.

It currently does nothing. It's within the geometry of one of the pillars and isn't hooked up to anything - so even if you were to somehow clip out of bounds and pull it, it wouldn't do anything.

What do you think, remove it? Leave it? :)

Leave it. Make it trigger an optional worth 0 XP with the text "Working as intended!"

Whoa whoa whoa... that's the structural lever from year 1 of the game that keeps the game engine glued together. No touchy. Good thing noone can see the seedy kobold posters behind the other wall that keep the kobold workers going.

Hmmm... actually if you want to take down that kobold poster and put up a golbin one in half the level 2 quests... I wouldn't be all that sad.

^^^ THIS is one of the coolest behind the scenes images I've seen in quite some time. (am being serious)

Personally - hook it up to an infinite button of 'winning' and a disco ball - on the other side of the dungeon. :P

on further thought i suspect that the existance of light beam puzzles that kill you if you do it wrong is deeply rooted in the nature of the dev tools in use

also. if THIS is what a lever looks like behind the scenes ...

show me a ladder!!! I suspect this would answer many things

It's basically the brains of the dungeon, so something is like "when something is in this area do this thing in that area".

The Red/Blue Pyramids are patrol points, and the green lines / arrows are links. Basically when we want monsters to have a patrol, we put down a bunch of linked points together, and they will do a circuit between them. If there are only 2 points, they will just go back and forth.

The red lines / arrows are also links, but they are for dungeon logic. They control the doors, quest objectives, quest items, and levers throughout the dungeon.

There are a few reddish cones in there as well, they are generators. Generators spawn any interactable object or NPC.

If you're interested in this sort of stuff, here's a crash course video I did for training awhile back:

Huh, I just assumed it's just regular lever, phased out of the map, like the crests in Friends in Low Places. It happens every few updates in one quest or another.

Oh, it's the "blow up the market tent" lever. I wondered where we put it.

    It's a good lever.

WHY? why do you give secretive info away? It was Eladrin's panic button in case his server lost the race to the Sub-T.

I suppose you're going to tell everyone about this lever also?

I needs to be given a means to reach.... when ya make your way to it.. the way will be unmapped and black, no light. You obviously pull it. A creepy voice goes "Ooof! Easy there Love, that's attached ya know!?"

I miss the tent. My oldest kid, who at the time must have been four or five years old, would just run around in there and jump off the tops of those platforms with ff on (as good as a babysitter , except that I could not play).

Oh, and this is really a cool thread.
