    Post Lfm bug

Please is it too much to ask for a fix on the LFM panel, It's completely buggy and it has been since well i can't remember when. I know that this bug has been around for quite awhile and unless you're familiar with the game you would have no idea how to fix it. Simply by clicking the "Who" tab and waiting for it to completely populate every player online and then switching back. Then it fixes the bug. Sometimes it still doesn't completely fix it. This is very annoying please fix. Thanks for your time.

There was an intense thread on this very subject (with the "fix" described as you did) recently. Dev silence IIRC.

I thought you were talking about ghost LFM bug (where LFMs with nobody in them - not even the creator of the LFM - are left up for hours upon hours).

I could have sworn this (not loading other players until you go into the who tab) was an intentional change in order to help reduce lag (why have every player load every other player all the time, limit it to only those who chose to see). Can't remember when it started though, otherwise I'd try and search for reference to that.

So here's the thing. Your "Who" list used to load when you logged into a character. However it added to loading times (it might have loaded as soon as the loading screen ended, freezing up your character for a few seconds - I can't recall) and for some reason they thought it would be a splendid idea to suppress this event until you opened your "Who" panel. Because what's better than loading things after the loading screen ends, amiright?

The unintended consequence? You can't see any names in the Grouping panel until you complete this action. You also can't use the command /who [player name] until you've opened the Who panel. In my opinion, this is a wholly unacceptable mechanic. I'm not super sure what a new player would think when they check the Grouping panel for the first time only to find it looking all buggy - couple that with the fact that they wouldn't know how to fix it and you're left with someone wondering why they're playing an exceptionally broken game.

I'm still left wondering why loading a list of players takes so long. I mean, the server is sending you an array of strings and lookup values and your game client uses this data to populate a list. Doesn't seem like rocket science. But I suppose they know better.

It's WAI, made to reduce crashes when logging in, cause even with preloader and whatever, you could (and can) crash too
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm
