Default Returning plyr Need a new ranged build, maybe Inquisitor?

Premium, have all expansions, 75% of packs. Most trees (no harper)

    Lots of bows.

    3 ranger pl's, 2 aasimar, 2 human.

No x-bows but can farm for them.

I'd like a new ranged build thats fun, easy to run, and can handle HTR's.

No cannith crafting yet. I'll be starting that next week. I have all the ravenloft sets (heroic)

There are several recent threads on this topic on various subforums - but the short answer is "yes".

There is an effective HTR ranged inquisitor build in my signature but you will want to have access to Harper if you plan to follow it.

Nice shot - but I did answer it. The only way I had to do any more was to do what you yourself were too lazy to do - a Search. And, frankly, I had neither time nor energy atm. Glad you found someone to do the heavy lifting for you. Enjoy!

You're a rude dude. sad to see the forums still has a few people that think they're on twitter.

I came here for help, not your ridicule.

    Nice thread here:
    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...-brainstorming

Discussion of "why" along with "what"

Go farm up a Ratcatcher in Threnal. I know that Threnal sucks, but it's just 3 runs at most to get one.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful

I affirmed you were on the right track, but was unwilling to do your Search for you. Guilty.

If you think that's "rude" and "ill mannered", then that's what you think.

Others may disagree, as they please.

As I said before (in my rude way), glad you found someone to help, since you are unable to Search.

Back in the day, there were people that treated others the way you did to me. I guess only the names have changed. Don't tell others what they can and can't do. You have no idea what I did previous to coming to ask for help.
People reached to me on this thread and in PM's. The way this community always worked. Maybe you should take a look at that.

HELP the new & returning player, don't patronize them.

    They can get convoluted, yes.

    Rogues have mechanic.

    Artificers have battle engineer.

Monks have 10k stars (is this still a thing?)

Rangers have Arcane archer and Deepwood sniper.

    Elves have Arcane archer.

And there is also the multiclass section.

And don't forget all the new enhancement trees like harper and falconry which are frequently used with ranged builds. (Not of the forums per se, but lots of data on the wiki to review.)

There is a ton of good info in all those places. Far more than can be repeated in one thread however. I suggest starting with the inquisitor build threads in the rogue forum and the multiclass forum (there is one near the top in each currently). Read the whole thing. There is a lot to learn in the discussions and variations. Pull the wiki up on another screen while you do so that way you can reference the enhancements being discussed to help get you back up to speed.

This game, and these forums have always been a version of drinking from the firehose. Best of luck.

without harper, your inquisiting options are restricted. crossbows natively use dex to hit and they don't add any ability to damage

You can get INT to hit from Eldritch Knight or Artificer spell.
You can get INT to damage from Rogue Mechanic third core or Artificer spell.

If you have Falconry, you can get Wisdom to hit and damage there, and also Deadly Instinct.
Keep in mind that this locks quite a lot of AP (41 for inquisitive, 23+ for falconry), you won't have much room for other enhancements.
But you can for example do this on a cleric or fvs and have very nice heals and buffs.

If you have FvS, you can get Wisdom or Charisma to hit and damage with Deity weapons, and there's an enhancement in Inquisitive tree that makes your crossbows deity weapons. Note that War Soul tier one Divine Presence / Divine Will does not apply to ranged damage. But it's okay and you have plenty free AP.
