When zooning in general we do not get a confirmation box but for airshhip access there is one. This extra click is annoying me. Am I the only one who finds this annoying?

Note that the guild airship beacons also demand to know if you actually want to go to your ship. I would not be in the least surprised if the entire "do I have a ship" check is tied to that one dialog option.
Not to be cynical, but yes perhaps the e-commerce associated with beacons. I don't know what the sales numbers are on these things but I haven't seen one in years. I'd love to see the dialog go away, it can hang for a long time and is generally annoying.

I will be honest that I personally have not found this to be annoying, but then again I use the keyboard to select options, so it is likely muscle memory.

I agree that removing unneeded extra steps is generally a good thing. But as another person stated, if this is more complex then 30 minutes of work, it wouldn't be where I would concentrate effort as there are many other things that warrant attention.

On the Air Ship beacon, I had thought the dialog is there simply because it checked if this was taking you to your ship.

If there's some sort of consensus about removing it I can take a shot.
I'm with the remove-it-if-you-can crowd. It's always seemed like a pointless little dialog to me.

Correct. Internally, they're different scripts entirely. The NPC that looks a lot like a door (and it's the same NPC no matter where it's sitting in the world) is just asking you if you want to enter for no technical reason (and I'm compiling the removal of that scripting as I write this post). The beacon is querying if you're in a guild first because it wants to display some instructions to unguilded people who click on it, rather than relying on the default "you're not in a guild, buddy" error text.

I'll leave the mobile airship beacon alone to avoid opening up griefing potential.

In fourth grade (if I remember correctly), one of my classmates tried to iron his pants while wearing them. His mother screamed "What the f*** are you doing!!?", but was probably proud of his effort to keep a neat wardrobe.

What about a check box in the ui that disables the airship dialog?
