Default Goggles and Cloak both with 2 Augment slots (yellow and colorless). unbound. for sale

    Hi,

I'm back to game after several years and I want to know the worth of these items and probably sell them.
    Thank you.

Heh, a lot. Like, a stupid amount of shards (I'm not sure if you could find anything equiv to barter, but maybe). Purely a seller's market - start absurdly high, and they will probably still sell in a heartbeat anyway and make you wish you'd asked for more.

as C-Dog said, they are marketable. I'd suggest around 100-125 shards apiece, if you were going to sell them. However, I'd also recommend blanking them (black powder) via cannith crafting, and storing them on a mule, in case you ever want to use them via Cannith. They are really items that you won't necessarily see again.

For the record, I've trying to sell one blank for 1000 AS for a couple of weeks and noone bit, so 1000 AS is probably too much

I tried selling one for 150AS and it never sold for that price (after about 3 tries of 3-day auctions).

I think it finally sold when I put a buy out of 100AS. That was maybe a year ago.

You could try 2mil plat as well. A lot of folks consider plat to be worthless/useless and so might be willing to pay that much (which is also the max you can sell something for on AH).

Oh and I am also on G-Land for the record. Other servers may have different pricing.

My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.

Do NOT let this go for platinum! That's terrible advice. If you want platinum, sell it for AS, buy a +3 Tome with some part of those AS, and sell that for 2M plat - done.

As to whether 1000 or 100 is right - I think that quitting at 3 tries is the problem, combined with dropping the price by 1/10. Patience is what is needed.

You are trying to sell a Picasso, an Elvis Presley jacket, a Faberge egg - the market for these rare things is tiny, but when you find your market, when you find the right buyer, the price WILL be jaw dropping. It will take time. Lower it little by little (maybe by 10%-15% each week?) - if you set it out every week on the same days (I find my best results are posting on Thurs afternoon), people will start to see it, people will start to notice it and keep track of it, and someone will grab it at (or just a little below) "market price" before someone else does.

First, if you're paying 2mil for a +3 tome, that is also bad advice.
Second, it was a suggestion, not advice. Plat gets a bad rap, but I still haven't had anyone give me their "worthless and useless" 4 mil plat no matter how many times I offer to take it off their hands.
Third, I didn't drop the price by 1/10. I tried 150AS for three weekends in a row. Another three weekends of 125AS. Finally sold for 100AS, but I don't remember how many attempts - if it was the first or second or longer.

So yes patience is needed, but "how much" is different for everyone. A blank with a yellow and colorless is nice, but it's not a raid item, it's not a slave lords item. The "bad advice" would be telling someone to go ahead and pay 1000AS for it. lol

Plat has its own use, but the 'advice' you suggested, was incorrect. As C-Dog correctly states, you don't see these materials that often. Putting an item like that up for plat is a fool's errand.

A blank with a yellow and colorless is nice, but it's not a raid item, it's not a slave lords item.
Can't compare it to them, completely different. A dual slotted aug item can be used to fill the gaps that is missing with some set gear; but it's effects are something that you can specifically craft..

Now ^^ is an obvious statement, but it's even more relevant than your statement of trying to compare it to a slave lord or raid item

Must be server-dependent. On Thelanis, rarely do +3 Tomes make it to the platinum AH, are usually snapped up quickly when the do (at any price, 2M still seeming cheap), and so are generally found only on the ASE.

Well, that's the thing - it IS a "ymmv" thing when it comes to the value a buyer puts on it. These items are some of the rarest in the game atm - if it's exactly what someone wants, and they have no other use for their 1,000 AS - then ~maybe~ their mileage is exactly that.

Again, it was not advice. But keep beating the dead horse. My experience in selling these is worth posting my suggestions, as I am also on the same server as the OP. Sometimes new or returning players could use a big plat infusion to get rolling. If not, ignore the suggestion and move on.

The comparison is 100% relevant. You can get better effects from raid/SL gear. Kind of puts things in perspective when trying to figure out an approximate value. I'd never pay the amount of AS being suggested in this thread when I can get better items w/o paying a king's ransom in AS.

Just want to point out that 1,000AS costs 5395 DDO points from the store, and that many DDO points costs over $50. Sales and such (and favor) would bring that cost down of course. So yeah, if someone's mileage is to pay 1000AS for a double augment item, then I can tell you whatever they are driving gets horrible mileage.

Pssst - from your post you clearly aren't thinking about this, but VIP's get 500 points, each month, for free! And some just don't spend them very often, and some have piles of AS, just sitting there. Some few have both!

I never said it was something common; the buyer of rare items can be as rare as that item. But they're out there.

So, as with any valuable item that is rare or unique for sale, it's a matter of whether the seller wants to sell it this week, or is willing to find the person who will pay what they're asking.

Okay, clearly you didn't read my second sentence, or maybe didn't understand "and such".

I am a VIP but I never have 1000AS just laying around waiting for a double augmented item to purchase. Seriously, that's almost a full year's worth of your "free" DDO points.

Bottom line is the OP has probably long since stopped reading our replies, but I would be curious if/when he/she sells it - what it went for and how long it took.
