Protection from Evil on Gear: Just stop. It's useless.

The only use for Protection from Evil spell is to prevent Command/Greater Command. There may be some other spells that it blocks but they are so rarely seen.

There are many sources of Prot. from Evil effect on GEAR in the game. My most recent use of one of these items is the Specter Deflector buckler ML12.

The Protection from Evil effect on ALL these items does nothing to protect versus Command/Greater Command. I got Greater Commanded while wielding the Specter Deflector ml 12. A relatively new item.

Thankfully none of the Sharn gear has this useless effect. However, PLEASE refrain from adding it to ANY new/future gear OR fix it so it *actually* prevents Command/G.Command.

The main point here is not that Protection from Evil/Magic Circle vs Evil are hard to come by. I get a handful of CL10 versions each life.

The point is the slot on the gear should be something actually useful that adds to a character's defense/power whatever.

No, not the only reason.

I can't remember the last time I was subjected to Command or Greater command. And by that I mean at least a year, maybe two.
I usually wear a Silver Flame Talisman and play 80% of content from 1-30.
So you can say it doesn't work... or maybe I am just exceptionally lucky.
