    Default Legendary Echo of Wave

    My MM spammer got one of these today. Equipped it and ran around for 2 hours MM the **** out of stuff. Never saw one thing freeze. Literally not one. Thousands and thousands of MM's and not one thing got froze? Is this thing bugged? Anyone else using one and seeing mobs getting froze? Was hoping it would be a nice little CC boost but like I said after 2 hours throwing MM's I havent seen it proc once.

    What level of content where you running? It only has a dc of 35 and a low procrate, have you tried different spells? Is colors of the queen interfering? Did you use the sla or actual spell?

    Was running a bunch of different higher level stuff, some legendary, some explorer areas. Casted with colors on but Im not sure how or why that would effect anything that the staff is doing. On the wiki it says the legendary staff has a DC of 70. Now that alone in legendary would probably not proc much, but as I said I ran in some lower level stuff as well and it still didnt proc. I used SLA's and actual spells. Thousands and thousands of MM and no procs seems odd to me. If the DC is 70, then it would almost be useless in legendary so Im not sure what their intentions for the staff were because theres an effect on the staff that will almost never go off.

    Sucks, because , If it doesnt freeze ( and it appears that it doesnt) this staff is worthless.

    Ahhh my bad, the leg one has a dc of 70(wich is low, the upgraded g-sword has a dc of a 100 and it rarely popped before sharn, after sharn dropped, it only goes of in the Wilderness area, where it isn't really needed.

    Just be glad you din't waste your time grinding shards.

    Aye, DC70 is just not right on a legendary item. DC100 will at least work in most of the older content. Does it still fire when the mob rolls a one?

    My Cloak of the night (lvl28 mabar cloak) has nightmare guard and it fires maybe 2-3 times a quest on reaper 3 on sharn which I think is because the enemy is rolling a 1.

    I know how you feel, I thought the heroic one would make my spammer look so cool but the **** save makes it useless

    The issue is not just the save its the fact that it does not try to apply on every hit. Effects that have a % chance then have a save are pretty much complete garbage.

    Reflections of blackrazors proc is a good example wave is another. I wish they would just set the proc to what they want it to be and get rid of the save or just get rid of the save. With stat inflation these effects suffer the most.

    If you want something to be tied to a die roll and around a 2.5% chance have it proc on a 20 and then 50% chance, but don't give us that then a 70 or even 100 dc save that is really rolling a 1.

    I voiced my opinions ages ago regarding this and really for me I just ignore those effects now when putting value on an item.

    Do you really want to design gear that has *almost* completely ignored or devalued effects?

    I agree and have experienced it's complete lack of actually freezing anything. It has LITERALLY never worked *not once*. Its only use for me is an emergency clicky on my Warlock when Dark Discorporation is on CD.

    I wouldn't even use it for the other effects given that there are better options.

    If the freezing worked I would consider the other effects....

    Ok thanks all. I figured something was up. Thats a shame to go through all the trouble of designing a weapon and have 1 part of it that is literally worthless, thereby making the entire weapon worthless. I agree they should just remove the save and have it at a 2.5% proc rate on everything that takes a hit. They really nerfed the MM spammers with the damage and now we cant even get CC with it either. I like MM spamming, dont know why, but I do. Unfortunately they are just meh, middle of the road DPS and minimal CC with nerve venom. I was really looking forward to adding this staff and seeing stuff freeze as well.
