    Default Sharn Armor Conversion

The set bonuses for the various Sharn sets are very nice but have some major drawbacks due to armor restrictions. I fully understand the reasoning behind not making an option for each armor type for each set, diluting the loot tables would make it that much more difficult to get items you want. So, how about being able to hand an armor from the set you want to make to the Rayne Cloud, the person who makes your Sharn weapons and she will hand you back the armor in the type you need. For example, my spellsinging swashbuckler bard, who has 0 points spent in warchanter let alone the 22 points needed to gain medium armor proficiency, could hand her a Blessed Vestments from the Flamecleansed Fury set and get back light armor with the same effects. As things are now the only sets he can use are Part of the Family and Wallwatch sets, neither of which does anything for his crowd control casting and healing. My clonk would love to use that same set yet he needs a cloth armor to stay centered. Warforged/Bladeforged characters are left out of a few of the sets entirely. Half of my characters were not able to use any of the Ravenloft sets for various reasons, I'd like to be able to make use of the sets in Sharn.

I doubt they would implement anything like that, because similar requests were rejected in the previews.

Somehow the DPS set can get all armor types, but you are screwed if you want casting light armor, an EK armor without repair amp, etc. In retrospect, if they were going to just going to give every armor the same exact stats (and often the same appearances, just slightly different colors) they could have just made one set of armors with a Nearly Finished slot for Set bonus, similar to slavers gear but with just armors. That way everyone would have been happy. EKs could get decent heavy armor if they were built as such. Warlocks and Bards could get casting light or medium armor. Fleshy Artificers could get heavy if they wanted to. Archers could wear heavy armor if they really wanted to. Divine War/Bladeforged could wear divine sets. Wolf Druids could wear light druid armor. It would have reduced the number of armors in the tables and given everyone what they wanted. Perchance to dream.

We could have had just 6 armors (Robe, Outfit, Light, Med, Heavy, and Docent) able to be used with any set with some crafting, able to be used with whatever weird ass build players come up with, we instead get 16 (?) nigh identical armors that cater to very specific styles with their sets, except for the melee DPS set which got all of them.

It's not too late devs! You can fix this! Add to the sharn crafting to change the set bonus to another.

    Default Agree but not... :)

On one side, i 'm a little bit agree with you, but on the other side, not, but not really...
You made a good explain on the interest of the mechanic, less drops to put in loot biut you take the wrong way Imo.
You should have gone further in your proposition, not to drop a armor of each type without set but something else,
like a frame armor tied to a set, only one frame for each set, and go to craft what version of the armor you want.
so yes, less drop to code, but more craft option and design to do .
And yes, for some set, it can increased in that way the possibility. Medium version of the tank set, heavy version for the arcsteel...

But sorry for us, i think it's a bit too late for make this change in the game, maybe with a later pack we can hope and cross the fingers
