First of all LOL. Secondly most of the raids on Argo are pulled from private channels via in game or discord channels and alliances, meaning a pug can be filled by the in game LFM panel but most of the raid scene is formed by the private ones. Oh and before you mention it, No the playargo channel is not one of those said channels

You know, this is how we get to where we can't talk to each other.
While the OP could have used more of an exploratory probe to see if there is any way to get into the raid scene, the tone is he/she set is kind of weird.
He could have started much better if one simply states/asks, "I am having trouble finding any sort of raiding game here on Argo, is there any way I can find it?"

Which in turn sets the scene for the sort of non answers. There could have been more of a helpful side to this if he had been directed to check out the different sources instead of the answers he did get.

I am not trying to knock anyone but if we keep getting this sort of behavior on the forums it will eventually impact the populations on a game I love.
We are so helpful to each other in other regards here, builds, advice etc.

Wouldn't be nice if we could just rise above the need to one up someone or find a way to not be so dismissive?

Just an observation and trying to preserve this game.
After a little Tolkien I am usually up for anything.

    Agree.
As someone in a similar state to the OP (but having been on Argo for years) can anyone maybe explain / list the functioning of these supposed 'private channels'? Are they rl friends that do their own thing? Are there any 'public' ones? My toons are in 3 large guilds, one of which considered very active, but I am in only one channel I happened upon in a pug that plays in a different time zone to me hence never seen any raid organising in it...over the last month or so I have only seen two lfm's for raids : one who repeatedly posts LShroud that noone ever joins and a well known, high level player that plays on higher difficulties; makes me presume these private channels are the only gateway to raiding...?

Not on argo, I idk the personal reasons people may make channels. But generally they’re passed around to friends who aren’t usually in direct contact. Then whenever someone thinks of forming, say an r10 dailies run, they’ll post in the channel first looking for interested people before posting lfms.

Private channels were a mistake honestly. Ive been saying it time and time again, they need to create global channels. That way this game doesn't seem as dead as it looks

most of the channels are for elitists that only run with elitists, they are full of bullies (according to others) and just don't like pugs....ohh wait a minute i am in three of them DOH

Thaks for the imput...even from Uggh, the bully!

I of course would support the creation of some general channels, possibly thematic based on type of player? So, for example, R10 group like Shadow mentions, casual raiding channel, heroic tr zerg channel, etc. so that over time one places one's different toon in a sort of pre-lfm pool of likeminded toons? Or maybe just a time-zone one would help?!

I'm going to study the wiki on how the channels work; anyone fancy giving some advice / displaying some interest in a project of this sort?

The /playargo channel was initially created for a purpose of trying to have a channel for much of what you wanted. To bring folks a channel that people could use to organize events, raids, etc., the problem came about as it was not password protected it became a channel where some undesirables came in and messed up the experience and intention of the channel so most of the folks in the higher end guilds left that channel and went back to only using the private channels that are usually reserved for cross guild alliances and folks who have grown to know each other really well from over the years. These channels are mostly used for the higher endgame runs of high reaper difficulty and raiding. Also since a ton of people use discord now, Most of those same folks are probably in dozens of different discord servers that coordinate groups, raids, tr's etc., that way is to avoid a lot of the toxicity and undesirables of a completely free for all open in game channel.

Are DoomDancers still active or completely dead? Just curious, I'm not from Argo.

Only our Khyber has so good players that even PUG rarely fails any raid. And this was true even in 2011-2012. Truth in 2019 too.
