    Well you don't really use your spot skill actively. It is passive and is what makes you sense the danger. You would use your search if your sensed danger.

    So I guess I find it is the D&D players handbook that Oliveyew must have forgotten to read. It is probably dangerous because she is throwing it at me.

    Oh it must be that sharp rock that I almost stepped on...followed by a short scream as I am roasted by the dragon's breath, coming from the dragon I failed to make the spot check for. Wisdom? Why would anyone ever invest in that?
