I'm actually using Strimtom's Acid Arrow and is amazing. There is some Monkcher that you might like.

I just ran a 14 monk / 6 ranger monkcher life (which you can only really do as elf or helf). I went DEX based since that was the thing at the time, and then Falconry came out while I was leveling through epics. I rerolled into a pure ranger, but honesty, the monkcher split was more fun and seemed to do more dmg.

The build works well and does a lot of dmg with 10k stars and manyshot. Definitely go WIS based for the extra DCs for your paralyzing arrows. Since you will eventually get access to the AA tree through your racial tree, extra racial APs really helps a build like this. yo will also have a ton of feats from all the Ranger and Monk bonus feats.

The one trick is that this build is crazy slow to level. You're a Ranger until 6, then monk all the way to 20. It's not bad, but your sorc and warlock and fighter friends will kill the dungeon in a third of the time.

Regenerating ki with a bow is awful, you need to periodically switch weapons to kamas and hit things, then go back to your bow.
