    Default Green Steel Weapons

I have a ton of characters, most of whom have green steel weapons and accessories. And something I've noticed over the last couple years (I've been playing for a very long time) is that GS weapons have largely fallen behind other level-comparable weapons. I mean, at this point, for a lot of characters, you're better off just using Barovian weapons, and those are 2 levels lower than GS!

Green Steel should always be the benchmark for ML 12 weapons (heck, I'd say ML 12-16).

At the very least, I'd like to see the base damage upped to at least 2 [W], and the extra damage effects (like shocking blast and such) brought into line with the new mechanics (+x dice on a critical instead of the old +x dice if a x2 multiplier, +y dice if x3, etc.).

Of course, this change would also necessitate a way to take your old GS weapon, stick it in a Stone of Change with x easily acquired ingredient, and get the new correct version of your weapon.

I hadn't noticed this but it's a valid point. Here I've still just been breaking out my GS and using it to 20. Greensteel needs a buff! Would also get people running Shroud again.

Frankly I love that Ravenloft gave me a set of gear that I can wear from level 10 to level 29. It's not the most powerful at level 28, but it's good enough. If I had my way I would get dressed at level 1 and never change my clothes, so if anything, I'd like to see them continue to make super powerful low level items so that switching gear at higher levels isn't necessary.

Of course, the most reasonable solution would be the ability to find or craft gear whose stats is based on your level. For example, if an item gave a bonus to strength it would give only +1 or +2 at level 1, but that bonus would increase as you gained levels so that the gear would always have an appropriate stat for your level. It wouldn't be overpowered at level 1 and wouldn't be underpowered at level 30. This is the only type of item I would actually be willing to run raids to acquire. Most raids just give gear that is good for less than a day before I ETR and TR back to level 1.

I'm generally swinging a Ravenloft weapon from 10 to 20 unless I have a specific weapon that works better for that specific build (like Tail of the Scorpion for my Wolf THF melee). I still have a golf bag of Shroud weapons, though. And I use those all the way up through 30 just because they're the best thing around for their niche.

Heck, I even keep a half dozen Shroud weapons up through 30 on my casters.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful

The devs rarely care about old loot and crafting systems, unless nerfing them, it encourages people to buy their latest content.
Smart devs would have laid down a plan years ago with the game difficulty and gear scheme.
Now we can do 1 old quest and breeze through and another modern one at the same level and get our backsides kicked all o er the place. I heard newbies complain about this many times on my server, they feel cheated out of their money because the content seems to be aimed at players with a lot!!! More power.

The same goes for the gear, for the most part, newbies felt special after gaining greensteel tr weapons, months of grinding, made useless 4 months later when ravenloft dropped. Whose weapons were so easy to get, more powerfull and at a lower level.

This will never change though, thedevs have no reason to ballance things, there is money to be made.
