It would be easier to try and help you if you'd mention what your play style is, or what it is you expect your build to do.
as it is, it's one of the worst caster builds I've ever seen.

    Default Updated with more info.....

Sorry for not providing more info., so here is what I was looking for ..... and Im not sure what you saw to think this was a caster build.... but anyway Im looking for solo running, with healing and range with melee as needed and also survivability, and trapping skills. Mostly for the monk PL. Im not to good with the monk strikes so I was hoping not to use them, except the healing ki.

It was a joke sorry if it didn't come through as such.

As for the build, I would take greater two weapon fighting & grandmaster of forms, max dexterity over strength (tempest enhancements will give you dex to hit & Damage), drop zen archery, go for dance of death enhancement from tempest tier 5 (much better than whirlwind IMO)

Alternatively, if you prefer ranged to melee, I would definitely take improved precise shot.

-- forgot to mention, but your build won't be using wraps early on without the monk levels, I'm guessing a Carnifex? I wouldn't use two weapon fighting before having the imp. twf (ranger lvl6) anyways.

To highlight what the other poster said. Can you clarify what you want? It seems like kill tings and also trap or are you interested in the monk past life or ? Fighter will generally be much faster at killing things. Pure monk would also.

What weapons are you planning on using? The build will likely be ok for 1-20 on elite but not that great relative to the uber players who will zip through everything a warp 9. You also appear to be going for both bow and melee which will work, but you'd be more effective if you picked one or the other. I've made and played a monkcher as a 14monk/6 ranger split and it works well but only as an elf since you need the AA enhancement tree. It's correct that ranger gives you a lot of ranged feats for free, but you still need the AA tree to be effective.

Whirlwind attack is typically taken for handwrap monks but handwraps don't really work that well with a lot of the Tempest abilities. You could use shortswords or kamas without expending a feat but dmg will be meh. To get decent dmg with longswords, you need two (or three) more feats and then cant use dex to hit from tempest (but can from ninja).

The several feats that are absolutely critical are GMOF which must be you level 18 feat, greater two weapon fighting and Zen Archery so you don't go uncentered which you don't strictly need, but boy is it annoying without. If you want to trap, you only need a single rogue level, but two might help with skil pts.

Also putting all your points in WIS is ok but without falconry, you would be better off as a DEX build.

Handwrap builds are good. Monkcher builds are good - well, as good as archery gets these days. Combining the two is ..ill-advised; not enough overlap in feats, Enhancements, etc. So you pull your build in two directions at once.

Doing a good melee/ranged hybrid is about focusing on a tree which boosts both. E.g. my drow Ninja uses shurikens and short swords since Ninja bonuses apply to both weapons.

I just wanted to say TY to everyone who responded! All of your helpful hints are helping me out greatly, and I have readjusted some feats. This build is for a monk PL basically and its my first try at a monk type build. Since I did take Elf I kind of was thinking going Long sword and longbow with WSS and Zen archery, use vampiric stonedust wraps and healin ki for needed heals. the 2 rogue levels for helping out trapping skills (could get by with 1 level rogue). As to my play-style , solo mostly and enjoy just palying.

If you're going elf, I'd recommend a class split like 12Monk/6ranger/2 rogue and full DEX. Again, Longswords are slightly suboptimal for two reasons, featwise you need WSS, WF:Slash, Imp crit Slash and Knight's Training whereas you get shortswords for free. And you need to spend at least 6 AP in ninja Spy to get Dex to hit/dmg (which is fine). Note that you can't get Dex to hit/dmg from Tempest, but you can from Ninja. You can probably do that + Tempest and be OK at hitting things with swords and bows. You'll be stretched AP wise.

Featwise, for both Bow/sword build, you need:
bow: PBS, Imp PreciseShot, ImpCrit: Ranged, ZenArchery, TenThousand Stars.
sword: WFSlash, WSS, GTWF, KnightsTraining, Imp Crit: slash
other stuff: GMoF (at 18), Precision is handy.

You get 7 + 3 as an elf/monk. So probably no Precision until epics.

Leveling you want all the Ranger freebies first, so you wan tto level something like 1 Rogue, 6 Ranger, 12Monk, 1 Rogue at 20.
You can run around wiith longswords or scimitars (or great axxes) until level 7 since you're a trapping ranger until then.

AP wise, you are going to be very tight. I'd probably take my T5 in Tempest and focus mainly on longswords. with the bulk of my AP in Ninja and Tempest. You only have up to core 3 in Tempest, so you will be missing the extended crit range from both ninja and tempest.
