"Bring to life" does not mean it will like you or be friendly or even sane... a statue might rampage and have a severe hatred for drunks and pigeons, a sex doll would prolly be traumatized, etc. I would go with someone I knew who died, but that would most likely make a zombie and not Raise them (in d&d standards). So, for fear of personal safety/sanity, I would have to make a nerf golem, if I HAD to bring something to life... otherwise nothing.

Anyone remember that episode of Supernatural when the giant teddy bear was brought to life? Maddening.

    "The body is but a vessel for the soul;
A puppet which bends to the soul's tyrrany.
And lo, the body is not eternal,
For it must feed on the flesh of others,
Lest it return to the dust whence it came.
    Therefore must the soul
    Deceive, Despise, and Murder men..."

It has to be my car. I could save a lot of money on Uber while at a bar. It could walk my dog. Road trips just became extra awesome. I could ask it what was wrong when it has mechanical issues. My luck however would make it more like Christine.

    Cool Fire Baby

I would bring all fire to life. This might not be the best idea, but hopefully fire would be my friend. What would fire elementals think. Who knows

If you could bring any one inanimate object to life, what would you choose?

The Fountain of Youth. That way, it would be available to everyone as it moves with me from city to city.

There are probably many things I would animate in the animated object sense. Bestowing actual life on something, though, that's trickier. It would really depend on what form that life would take. Would it be a life form with human level intelligence and complexity? Maybe something equivalent to a pet? a houseplant? A single-celled organism? I'd hate to choose a statue or something and have it come to life as a giant, statue shaped e. coli.

It's always a shame when the hammer of poor design choices smashes the fun of player tactical adaptation.

My hireling. Maybe THAT would stop them from acting brain-dead.

Genie of the Lamp from Arabian Nights?

On 2nd thought, Willie from Number One's dream on Star Trek: The Next Generation will work too.

    Thumbs up D&D sourcebooks

I'd have books able to tell me monsters weaknesses, what bypasses which DR, the perfect spell for each situation. It would really bring my game to the next level.

Off the top of my head, having my tea pot float and self-pour could be cool.
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

    The Rest Shrines.

Just to hear the stories of rushing and adventuring and crawling adventurers of DDO since the first day. But also the original story of whom built the shrines this way.

Uhhhh..... How bout that guild buff bar. Make it a mimic that requires you to kill it every time you want the guild amenity buffs.

Darn people who spam that buff bar... oh wait.. that's me
