Default Dex to Damage with xbow?

Title says it all. Is there currently any way to get dex to damage for a crossbow?

No. Int, Wis and Cha are the only stats that can provide a damage stat for Crossbows.

Dagger in the Back: You can now use your Dexterity for damage with Daggers and Kukris. If you possess the Weapon Finesse feat, this also applies to melee weapons with which you can use your Dexterity modifier to hit. This enhancement does not work with handwraps or unarmed attacks.

Pardon my Ignorance (still learning the game) but how does one deal worthwhile damage without adding a stat?

You add a stat or pile on absurd amounts of Sneak or other damage. Or preferably both.

unfortunately, different tack does not work either. that one requires Single Weapon Fighting.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Is this an "oops I gimped my toon, can anyone help me ungimp it?" query or more of a philosophical "can you build a DPS toon which doesn't add a primary stat to its damage?" koan?

Because while it is theoretically possible to make e.g. a crossbow build with no stat bonus to damage, why would you do that? There are at least three options for adding INT to damage, a couple of ways to add WIS, and even one way for adding CHA. You can't add every stat to every weapon, of course, but there's always at least one option for adding one stat - even if it's just "pay to unlock the right Universal Enhancement tree."

Default I agree there is a problem

The ability from deep wood stalker states you may use your dex for damage with any weapon you use dex to calculate your to hit. I have verified this works with longbows. There for it should work with crossbrows.

    Per the wiki....

Improved Weapon Finesse: You can use your Dexterity modifier for damage when wielding bows, thrown weapons, and melee weapons with which you can use your Dexterity modifier to hit. The Weapon Finesse feat is NOT required to take this enhancement.
Note: Does not apply to crossbows.
Applies to Weapon Finesse weapons if you have that feat, as well as weapons (including handwraps and unarmed) with which you gain Dexterity to hit via enhancements.

Default Not sure why this thread got bumped but...

...there is now one DEX-to-damage option for light crossbows. SSG changed the requirements for Different Tack to require Swashbuckling being active instead of Single Weapon Fighting; which means it works for all Swashbuckling weapons, not just melee ones. So if you have Dashing Inquisition ("You can Swashbuckle while wielding a Light non-repeating Crossbow") + Swift Strikes, you will get DEX to damage. If you take Smooth Flourishes, you get CHA to damage instead.

Correct if you go through all the Hoops of swashbuckling and dashing weapons and so on and so forth you can get Dex to damage on light crossbow only.
