Log In and Patching Issues: Friday, May 3rd

Uninstall warm (No full power shut-down) received the hash patch error.
Uninstall cold (full power down) received the hash patch error.

So soon after the server outage and my VIP is up for renewal around the eleventh (A little later due to the last crash VIP Comp). It's an exceptional game but is this bad luck or a developing trend?

Getting this now too. One thing after another. At this point, SSG should just ship me a new hard drive with the game on it. After 13 years of VIP, I have more than paid for one.

I would settle for my $140.78 I paid for Sharn Ultimate Fan Bundle returned to me and just go our separate ways.

As the title suggests, I was able to fully download the game and got to the login screen. Logged in and choose Argo. Click play and get the Game Error [201] Cant open the data files. Check that they exist and that you have permission to write to them. The program will now exit.

Please fix this or at a minimum provide an update to the issue.

Just FYI: I was online when this went down yesterday, and shutting down the client and restarting, I experienced this same "hang after login" many of you seem to have also been hit by. I gave up on this last night, but a fresh perspective after work helped figure out the damage the SSG switchover had done:

For those of you who haven't yet tried dumping the client and re-installing, take a look at your client install folder.
- From the root of that folder, enter the "raw" folder
- Enter "en"
- Enter "logo"

In my case, all but one of the so-called .jpg files were 2kB html files from a failed image update into the logo folder.

You may be able to delete these and have it re-create them on next restart of the client, but in my case, I actually had an old copy of this folder to copy in. I assume the "de" and "fr" would work similarly. If blanking it doesn't properly re-create valid .jpg image files here, and you have no backup, try copying in a valid .jpg of your choice as each of the respective files:

What kind of gave it away for me was that after the "Shadowfell" screen, it normally would load a screen from this logo directory, based on your language setting, and then dump you at the character login screen.

First of all, I have no idea how to do what you suggest. And secondly, I just downloaded the game for the first time from the internet onto my Husbands computer and He gets the same log in error as I do. He cannot have corrupt DDO files as he has never had the game on His machine. So, Standing Stone the problem is with you! I just bought the 140$$$ bundle and renewed my subscription for a year. I really want an update.

Hash error and now i am thinking of calling the bank and dispute the charges for sharn and my vip i renewed 2 days ago. cant play yet they take the money. this is really getting my blood pressure up. thinking of downloading WoW and see if they deserve my money

Since people started to report this issue i started to get lag stuck after a couple of minutes i Join a party.
i can chat and see people walking around but no health status or sp gets updated. Thats happening everytime i Join a party in a quest area. Tought It was the lammania karma but seems to not be that this time as not everyone gets the same issue at the same time.

This is correct, I copied the .dat files from lamannia's files then deleted them(so I didnt have to go find them) which then sent me through the process of installing all the .dat files. I can now log on.

Cordovan, Lynn or anyone at SSG please help. I am in the same boat as above post! Is there any update on what else can be done. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and at log on get "There was an error generating the hash code for a patch file".

Go to your file directory and follow this path: C:, Program Files (x86), StandingStoneGames, Dungeons & Dragons Online

Look for your DAT Files and delete them. They may be in a sub folder. I just copied the ones from the Dungeons & Dragons Online (Prview) to replace them then deleted.

This will trigger the download for those files next time you boot up the client which isn't happening currently on the new installer.

Game ran fine earlier today. Now I can put in my login ID and password and get the loading screen, but it never loads to the character selection screen and I can't even alt-tab to other programs. They're running in the background, but the loading screen is filling my entire window and it won't go away. Not even to let Task Manager appear.

What the heck?

(Edit - I didn't download anything new today at all. I'm now trying to repair the install and see if that helps?)

Last night i could log into the launcher and load the character screen but when i when to zone in it froze and i had to log out and in to kill the client.
This morning i can log in and launch and get in game. but if i try and go to the cargo hold on the guild ship it freezes the game and i have to kill the client and start over.
when running shadow king and zoning between rooms i got no load screen just a grey screen with white squares. this happened 3 times then it froze.
Wondering if it has something to do with load screens??

mine were all 1kb files. deleted and they redownloaded fine it seems

Edit* logged in and went to cargo hold. seems to have fixed it. thanks.
