Default Fury's Heroic TR Leveling Guide

PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AS THERE IS A TON OF INFORMATION AND I WILL BE REVISING IT AS I FIND TYPOS OR ERRORS.

Here is a pretty general list of quests to run to get from 1 to 20 in the shortest amount of time. Keep in mind these are my personal preferences and YMMV.

I have done all quests in the game and my only goal is to get to 20 ASAP. Things taken into consideration are how fast can you get to the next quest (quest chains are prefered as you waste no time getting from one to another [WW, Catacombs, ETC]).

Note, I don't list things like quest optionals, explorer/slayer/rare areas (Vale and Necro are GREAT for XP)

    XP modifier assumptions:
    • Killing monsters (Max 25) 25%
    • Not killing monsters (Max 10) 0%
    • Disarming traps (Max 30) 0%
    • Destroying breakable objects (Max 15) 15%
    • Finding secret doors (Max 15) 15%
    • Daily Play through (20) 20%
    • First-time completion of quest (20) 20%
    • Hard/Elite Streak (Max 50) 50%
    • First time on Hard/Elite/Reaper (Max 120) 120%
    • Flawless Victory (10) No deaths 10%
    • Persistence Bonus (10) No reentries 10%
    • Tome of Learning bonus: first time through quest 50%
    • Buddy Bonus (Max 50) 0%
    • Total 435%
    • --------------------------
    • XP multipliers Heroric
    • Ship buff (5) 5%
    • Pot (Max 50) 30%
    • VIP (10) 10%
    • Voice of the Master/Mantle of the Worldshaper/The Master's Gift/Pale Green Ioun Stone 5%
    • Total 150%

The list is sorted by quest level and then by the amount of modified XP you can expect to get from them.

I normally run them all on R1 two levels ahead of the base quest level (a level 3 quest on R1 is level 5 so I try to run it at level 5).

Once again the goal here is to get my second racial completionest toon and worry about Reaper points when I get back to 30 (where you get thousands of RXP per quest instead of trying to hammer out a few hundred at the cost of speed)

There has been no life that I have followed this list exactly, it is meant as a guide. Things like groups and guildies and other factors will impact what quests you do and when. For instance if you get in a great group and they want to run VoN 1 and 2 and 5, go with the flow, enjoy it, it is a game after all

*REHN = Do on Reaper, Elite, Hard and Normal, it helps if you have an opener. (an opener is a second account that has the quest so you don't have to keep resetting it, the second account does not have to enter the quest). I use these as placesetters, I do them until I catch up or if I am ahead already, I don't run them as often.

    Notes:
    *1 The Collaborator 5344 *EHN
This is to get you tough enough (Level wise) to do The Kobolds' New Ringleader.

*2 The Kobolds' New Ringleader 9474 *REHN
*2 Information is Key 7439 *REHN
This is to get you to level 4 to spend your Reaper points

    6 The Bloody Crypt 38367
I normally only do this if I have a group that can split up, not worth the time otherwise.

*8 Spies in the House 75515 *REHN
this is to get you to level 10 if you are a bit short

*9 The Jungle of Khyber 88755 *RE
*9 The Shadow Crypt 255285 *REHN
This is to get you to level 12

*12 The Chamber of Raiyum 64050 *RE
Only if I have a good group or partner to split the quest up with.

*15 Litany of the Dead 259677 *REHN
Another catch up quest, bank a level then move on.

*16 Running with the Devils 140160 *REH
*17 The Sane Asylum 143646 *REHN
It takes a ton of XP to get to 20 from here, these are quick and easy.

Here is a sample of the spreadsheet I made, it sorts the quests by level then sorts them by the amount of XP you get. It's up to you to decide how long it will take you to run quests and come up with a XP per minute calculation:

Do you ever run quests on casual? I only ask because your starting list has the lvl 1s, while a lvl 1 character skipping korthos can get to level two almost by doing just kobalds new ring leader and walking the butcher's path on casual. So if speed is the concern, 2ish quests vs the 4 in korthos city seems quicker.

I don't understand why you skip the eveningstar saga... I mean, you do parts of it, but not the whole thing for some reason? Also, no Pit run? No crucible? Why on earth are you doing Kobold assault? I see that you do the depths of darkness, why not the rest of it, they can all be done in 1-3 minutes? Why are you doing Chains of Flame, AQ1, and Wizking, although Wizking would be good xp/min if you had a group, its actually fairly bad imo if you dont? Why isn't the first part of missing on this list, its a super fast quest that can be done in about 5 minutes?

just my first look at this list.

There are too many quest that take too long for too little XP to make this worth it to me.

I don't know pit well enough to make it worth the time it takes me to do it.

I do not run crucible as I normally like to run quests that I can solo on my leveling build, if I have a good group with a swimmer, then I do it, I just don't count on it.

My spreadsheet had an error in it so it listed some quests that I did not do and did not list some that I do. Note, using check boxes in excel sucks. I changed it a bit to number of runs and added a XP multiplier to approximate the XP you get for the number of runs you put.

The list has been updated to reflect the quests I do run (the four house D quests for instance and not Kobold assault)

I almost always find people to do Wiz King with me. If I don't, I do something else, like I said, these are not written in stone.
ADQ makes chains worth it most times, once again if I have a partner or group (which I normally do) to multitask in ADQ

I REALLY HATE the missing chain, I don't know why but I can't stand doing those quests.

running quests on casual will break my elite streak and i would lose 50% XP bonus. The korthos quests are just to get me to 3 so I can do new ringleader on reaper (the boss hits HARD), then I do ring leader and info is key until I hit 4 and can spend my reaper points. Once I have the reaper bonuses, things become a bit easier

I would seriously take the time to learn the pit and especially crucible. I personally can solo the pit in 20 minutes, and I can solo crucible with a hire in about 14-16 minutes depending. Both are massive xp quests.

I know both but the Pit is something I don't really like so I haven't bothered to learn it as well as I should. Crucible is a PITA doing the swim on a pure warlock, have to stop and heal every ten feet. Can only use heal pots so takes too long. I have better things to run at that level Between GH and Necro4, I am pretty well capped on level 14 quests.

You're listing doing The Collaborator on Reaper. I'm assuming just an error unless you've managed to find a way to open Korthos quest on that difficulty level ????
Leader of Shrodingers Cat Support Group a Husband and Wife guild on Orien.
Tolkiens Law: Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.
    Dresdens corollary:
    Screw subtle!

I aspire to one day be as uber as you and to play the game in exactly the same way as you, until then, I decided to (and noted that it is my PERSONAL choices) post the results of weeks/years of data that I have compiled of my experiences to hopefully give others some insight that may help them.

I like suggestions on how I can improve but I don't wish to argue over preferences. It's a game and I will play it the way I enjoy it, if you prefer to play it a different way, more power to you. I encourage you to play it the way you like.

******************NOTE: Geeky numbers and stuff after this, STOP reading now if you get bored with this!**************************

In the amount of time it takes "ME" to do The Pit, I can do half of the following quests that are all the same level and part of a chain and/or saga. being part of a chain means minimal time wasted between quests. being part of a saga means you get a huge XP burst all over your face at the end.

So I can spend an hour fumbling through The Pit to earn bragging rights that I know it and around 57029 XP with bonuses:
The Pit Very long F2P 57029

    OR

I can do these 8 Quests in about an hour and a half and get almost 4 times the XP:
5116 The Missing Party Very long Delera's Tomb 33382
3796 Old Grey Garl Long Three-Barrel Cove 24769
    2980 The Scoundrel's Run Medium Three-Barrel Cove 19445
2977 The Tide Turns Long Sentinels of Stormreach 19425
2539 The Black Loch Medium Sentinels of Stormreach 16567
2410 Storm the Beaches Medium Sentinels of Stormreach 15725
    2404 Free Delera Long Delera's Tomb 15686
1987 Bargain of Blood Medium Sentinels of Stormreach 12965
26000 The Pirates of the Thunder Sea Saga 39000
    Total 196964

The Pit = 950 xp per minute (FOR ME) total of 57029 xp
The other quests = 2188 xp per minute (FOR ME) total of 196964 xp

being that it takes 190,000 XP to go from level 9 to level 10, if you do The Pit, you still have to do several more quests before you can move on. Doing the 8 quests that I choose to do, your done.

Thank you for sharing. Most of the list looks like what I tend to run with my duo-partner.

I can recommend taking a look at:
5 REHN the first Fire Cave quest (if duo).
    11 Dead Shall Rise
    12 Relic
    16 Mask Elite

I find these to be very good xp with Fire Caves being outright amazing.

Good catch, I do the fire caves (The Stones Run Red) a couple of times as well if I need catch up XP or I am starting 3BC early.

With RL and OOB, I am pretty much done with this level, I do RL for the Saga (and the quest XP is good) and I do OOB because it can be done very quickly and I am in that area anyway for other desert quests.

The Mask is in a different area than I am in and it is the lowest XP of any level 16 quest. It may be fast to do the quest but getting to it and back ETC...
I find it easier to just stay in the Vale at those levels doing quests and S/R/E

I like suggestions on how I can improve but I don't wish to argue over preferences. It's a game and I will play it the way I enjoy it, if you prefer to play it a different way, more power to you. I encourage you to play it the way you like.

Why are you getting all offended exactly? If you just took the time to learn both quests, you could adapt your list to be better... Thats all... I mean, im not trying to say that you suck as a player, I am just saying what you could do instead. If you didn't want constructive criticism then perhaps you shouldn't have posted on the forums?

Now this is me kind of attacking you. You have been playing since 2006, when are you going to learn these 2 basic quests? It has been 13 years. Although I suppose Gianthold didnt come out right away, im not sure if the pit was available right away.

HAHA! I know both of these quests, the Crucible I know quite well and love doing the swim on my evasion toons, I have a PERSONAL PREFERENCE not to do the swim on non evasion toons. I don't care if you like these quests and are fixated on everyone running them, I prefer not to. This is a game and I will play it the way I like. I love ravenloft so I play that a lot, I hate the fear quests so I rarely do them.

Crucible is in the same level range as Necro 4 (litany), gianthold (with saga) and the lords march chains (which give inventory space I need for my next TR) which means I have so much content, I can afford to skip Crucible and still get my saga (VIP), why should I bother?

You like it? Run it as many times as you want, you don't like that it isn't on my list? Make your own list.

The Pit is like escargot or caviar, people keep telling me it's an acquired taste and I just have to keep eating the nasty **** until it tastes good. BS, I have run it often enough to know I don't like it, leave me alone with my steak and potatoes

I gave my reasons several times now, let it go, it's my list.

I'm with you o. Crucible. I skip it unless I get a decent group as it can be a pain on reaper with a dumb dumb hire. Just pay the shards for saga complet.

As far as the evingstar chain I know the druid chain is crappy xp buts generally pretty quick and you get 2 sagas!! I always do that. Just too much to pass up

And I always run quests at lvl on reaper. It can really add up over many lives. 50% hit is just too much to take.

Hmm, let's think about this, maybe I am missing something...

So I did the figures and you have to do 7 more quests to get the Saga (119 if you do Vale and Reavers) 127 if you ditch vale and reavers and do the quests for the two sagas. The XP is a little better overall but not enough to make up for the extra 7 quests. Just in case you are wondering, here are the quests you would have to do for the two sages:

Level - Name - XP on elite - Modified XP
    • 15 Litany of the Dead 259677 2502632
    • 15 Shadow of a Doubt 28925 2531557
    • 15 Disciples of Shar 27705 2559262
    • 15 Escape Plan 22498 2581760
    • 16 Through a Mirror Darkly 62346 2644107
    • 16 Friends in Low Places 42582 2686689
    • 16 Army of Shadow 37316 2724005
    • 16 A Lesson in Deception 32964 2756970
    • 16 The Thrill of the Hunt 30126 2787096
    • 17 The Druid's Curse 34145 2964887
    • 17 Thorn and Paw 29650 2994536
    • 17 Outbreak 20417 3014953
    • 17 Overgrowth 20136 3035089
    • 17 The Sane Asylum 143646 3039096
    • 18 The End of the Road 39757 3074846
    • 18 Detour 38693 3113539
    • 18 Lost in the Swamp 31307 3144846
    • 18 Rest Stop 27653 3172499
    • 18 A Stay at the Inn 22727 3195226
    • 19 What Goes Up 110788 3306014
    • 19 The Tracker's Trap 54281 3360295
    • 19 A Break in the Ice 47939 3408234
    • 19 Lines of Supply 33056 3441290
    • 19 Breaking the Ranks 31255 3472545
    • 19 Perils of Cormyr Saga 144300 3616845
    • 19 Honor of the Huntsilver Saga 96200 3713045

Here is the list of level 15 - 20 quests on my list:

Level - Name - XP on elite - Modified XP
    • 15 Litany of the Dead 259677 2502632
    • 16 The Coalescence Chamber 65485 2568117
    • 16 Rainbow in the Dark 59371 2627488
    • 16 Ritual Sacrifice 52331 2679818
    • 16 Running with the Devils 49975 2729793
    • 17 Enter the Kobold 62040 2791833
    • 17 Monastery of the Scorpion 59117 2850949
    • 17 Prey on the Hunter 44501 2895450
    • 17 The Sane Asylum 143646 3039096
    • 18 The End of the Road 39757 3078852
    • 18 Detour 38693 3117546
    • 18 Lost in the Swamp 31307 3148853
    • 18 Rest Stop 27653 3176506
    • 18 A Stay at the Inn 22727 3199232
    • 19 What Goes Up 110788 3310020
    • 19 The Tracker's Trap 54281 3364302
    • 19 A Break in the Ice 47939 3412241
    • 19 Lines of Supply 33056 3445296
    • 19 Breaking the Ranks 31255 3476551

NOTE: I left Litany and Sane Asylum on both because they are too good to pass up in either case.

So 7 more quests but an extra 236,494 XP if you go the Saga route. Normally I pick this up in Vale and Orchard explorer areas

Conclusion: seems worth it overall but kind of a wash, the XP per quest for the eveningstar quests (except for storm horns) is at the bottom of the list. I think this is a preference thing, if you like Eveningstar then do the sagas, if you like Vale and Necro slayers, you can get the same amount of XP there. Only question is, what takes longer, the 7 extra quests for the sagas or the S/R/E XP?

A possible compromise, if you swap the reavers quests for the Wheloon quests and use your VIP (or shards) to bypass The Druid's Curse, you get the Honor of the Huntsilver Saga reward by only doing 2 more quests.

That's 100,615 for doing two more quests. Not too bad.

level 15 - 20 quests would look like this:
Level - Name - XP on elite - Modified XP
    • 15 Litany of the Dead 259677 1143968
    • 16 The Coalescence Chamber 65485 1078483

    Cool

I so agree with this statement. I ran the Pit once six years ago. I manage to TR and enjoy the game just fine, without running the Pit.
