Re-(re-re-)reading Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco.

Medieval, Detective, Fantasy-ish overtones (ala Divine vs. Infernal forces), and great writing - what's not to love?

If you saw the movie (Sean Connery et al), tho' that is really good, this is better; if you didn't, read this first, and the movie still won't disappoint.

That was a good one! I loved how the description of the "detective monk" character was an almost word for word homage to the description of Sherlock Holmes in "A Study in Scarlett", the first Holmes novel. It was a nice little nod from Eco to any Conan Doyle fans reading. Plus the plot was great.

If by reading you include listening to audiobooks (at work & home while playing DDO) in the past week depending on mood I've been listening to:

The Labyrinth Index by Charles Stross (the entire Laundry Files series prior to this one)
Packing for Mars by Mary Roach
How to be Champion by Sarah Millican
The Aeronaut's Windlass by Jim Butcher

Next on the list to work my way through for a re-listen is the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Yeah audiobooks on the commute, listening to 'Dune' right now.
Recently finished a couple of books from the 'Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser' - the kind of fantasy stories that influenced the creation of D&D!!

first, if that's a fan translation site you might want to remove that link it is possibly not appreciated.

2nd, going by the genre descriptions of that fav read of yours, Yahari Ore no Seishun LoveCome wa Machigatte Iru or short SNAFU for the english version might be an enjoayble anime to you.

I'm currently on manga read break but stuff I'll pick up again when I get back to it is Kingdom, Noblesse, Tower of God, Kubera, Mahoutsukai no Yome to name a few

Novel im currently reading is Paul Auster 4321

Ended The Shard Axe a few days ago, I'm still looking through The War Of The Ring, the LOTR book by Christopher Tolkien, next book will probably the next book of that series.
Meanwhile I was re-reading a tiny book on the Geology of the Berchtesgaden part of the Alps. Yesterday I found "J.R.R. Tolkien, artist & Illustrator" again, had totally forgotten that I had bought it several years ago.
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

Continuing in the Valdemar universe of Mercedes Lackey, although not all of the the individual stories appeal to me I am greatly partial to the espionage in a fantasy setting.

Also continuing in the MythAdventures universe although the original author passed, his co-author does his characters and worlds justice.
