Yeah I agree I'd rather see the trap parts become more useful than just be able to turn them off.

Now that Fletching is a much more widely available feature for ranged combat, a good first step might be incorporating trap parts into specialty ammunition. I'd spend the time and parts building stacks of ammo if it added useful things - not just the obvious +Xd6 Element Damage but if we had Blind ammo or %-chance-AOE ammo or Web ammo, things you can get on traps.

Along with that we'd also need a more effective method for switching out ammo. I generally only use either generic conjured bolts or bolts of fire for the very simple reason that going "Oh, undead! Better break out my Holy arrows!" is too much effort.

You'd probably find that if you post a request on your servers forum that plenty of people would just post them to you!

    Thumbs up

A toggle would definitely be nice for those who do not bother with Trapmaking OR Alchemical Grenades

Lucky for us, Alchemist will probably update the latter to be more useful (Damage scaling and dodge bypass) but the former tends to be limited by most people to Noisemakers, Web/Dance Traps, and Glitterdust Traps.

I would also personally like to see the removal of Holy and Unholy Trap Parts, as they cannot be used in anything and merely take up bag space. No one really uses them at all, and they could easily be replaced with a higher drop rate of Magical Trap parts, which nearly everyone uses.

It would also be cool if they added a Knockdown Trap, that uses Mechanical Trap Parts like a rope trap, OR a Sonic Trap that has a % chance to inflict Stun (and by extension Helplessness).
