Default Drow Race and Enhancements Added To Compendium

The Drow race and Drow enhancements have been added to the compendium on DDO.com. The new spells and enhancements that were introduced with the Twilight Forge Module will be added to the compendium in the very near future.

    Drow Race!

    Drow Enhancements!

As I am sure most of you know, this week was pretty crazy and a lot of us worked long hours. The Drow additions to the website were one of the things that got put off because of this.

Thank you for your patience and everyone have a good weekend!

Cool By the way, is the Elven Arcanum enhancements still wizard-only? I remember reading a post by someone who claimed he had an SP enhancement for his drow sorcerer.

So then the question becomes why is this a Wizard only enhancement?

    Arcanum:
    1. A deep secret; a mystery
    2. Specialized knowledge or detail that is mysterious to the average person

As this is Elven Arcanum, this would dictate that it is race specific to elves/drow who have a better understanding of the world of mana, thus allowing them to control more.

Of course I only have an Elven Wizard and a Drow Sorcerer so I don't know if Elven Bards/Sorcerers are also gimped in a similar fashion.

Dude, it's just like why Dwarven Faith is Cleric Only. No Pally or Rangers.

No. The reason is why even though this is DDO and not the PNP DND, the roots are still the same. DND elves have traditionally been wizards. Thus in PNP wizards are the preferred class. Which means you don't take an experience point penalty in multiclassing more than 3 levels from another class (it's a DND rule. . .nevermind).

ADnD had classes that you could NOT take due to race restrictions or level caps on certain skills (dwarves were better at open lock but not as good as elven and halfling move silently etc etc etc). Gnome = Illusionists, Elves = Wizards, Half-Orcs = barbarians etc etc. These were sterotypes. 3.0 and 3.5 broke allot of these molds. But DDO is flexible but knows the roots and has allowed some benefits of a elven wizard and dwarven cleric oppossed to sorcorers and bards. . .. it's a benefit and not a penalty to other classes. . . that's how I look at it.

No 'kidding' here... been away for about 8 months... just came back to see if it was worth it.

    Thanks for the info.
