Tiefling Fire Savant Cleric

would a tiefling fire savant cleric work? (I believe) fire is easier to get spellpower for than light, and tiefling has some fire goodies. could this be a viable nuker? or am I better just going for DCs in the death domain

Or are you thinking Pure Cleric with the Fire Domain?

I ask because the Multi-Class will effect what features of the Domain you will have available. Next, with the Divine Disciple tree I actually feel your light damage both Spell Power and Critical Chance has more potential for being a higher number then your Fire Spell Power and Critical Chance.

lol fire domain, sorry my head is spinning with builds I thought with some of the epic destinies it was easier to get fire higher, I will have to double check. glad you enjoyed fire domain I may give it a try.

thought I posted about this before...this is for a tiefling past life, I have two racial APs. this is not optimal but the idea is to use fire domain for a little DPS while still being able to DC cast. I took dark emissary for the necro DC am I overlooking anything obvious? I ran a tiefling sorc and it was a blast but want to try something different.

I did a Tiefling Cleric 14 with Fire Domain and Sorc 6. I put my APs into t4 Tiefling racial, t5 in EK, and t3 in DD with a splash of Fire Savant. It was a melee-spellcasting build, obviously, and it worked very nicely with the fire vulnerability caused by Improved Scorch. It was a blast to play, both literally and figuratively. The vulnerability to fire worked with both cleric and wiz spells.

As for Fire Spellpower vs. Light Spellpower, it really depended on what gear I had at a given level. I tweaked my DD enhancements to max the spellpower I was geared for. With Fire Domain you should be doing that. Also remember that you likely need both fire and light spell crit enhancements.

Draconic is the obvious destiny, although I also used Divine Crusader to good effect since I was melee.

So to answer your first question, Fire Domain works exceptionally well for cleric evokers (even multi-class) in low-to-mid reaper epic (I only went to level 25 due to the need to tr). What I did not test out was how well it would work on high reaper or raids. However, as you probably know, mixed builds don't generally work in those circumstances and pure healers are needed far more than evoker/healers.

Maybe a tiefling Druid would get done what you want. Shape change to a fire elemental and run draconic as your destiny.

I ran this to 30 and farmed all the gear (except the legendary onyx ring) and it was fun in heroic...not enough DPS to contribute in reaper and ended up missing the DCs from the death domain so I have TRed into a death domain cleric. I will say it was a fun way to get a tiefling racial life.
