Give new players a "carnival" atmosphere

So, this game has some cool artsy stuff spread throughout. Much of it is ignored by seasoned players.

Maybe SSG should consider taking things like DeGenev Brothers and putting them and their show in the Harbor.

Take Hennespyra and put her on Korthos and in the Harbor.

Use the "High Strike Game" and other elements from "Under the Big Top" on Korthos or the Harbor.

Take a few of the new "Levitation Discs" being released in the new Sharn quest, with NPC's on them flying around.

Make a new pier with a bunch of free shows in them, like a lot of real life ports all over the world has. Put the "Fashion Show", The Titan vs Sorjek, The "Tube" from WPM, whatever, short little demonstrations with parting gifts like cookies.

ANYTHING to make the new player experience more than just quest acquisition.

And while you're at it, fix the UI bug that requires people to go through all the tabs on social panel to get the LFM page to work properly.

In the Harbour, there's already that "mysterious ship". It would be fitting if there were new Sharn representatives showing what can be found in Sharn, like some kind of ... tourist fair - in-setting : To lure more people to Sharn.

Anything to make the place feel a bit more lively and like a real city. I like the idea of them occasionally changing or moving around too.

You could also have one of the bands that crop up in some places busking on one of the piers in the harbour. Maybe if you give them a gold piece, they'll answer questions about Stormreach, direct you to potential quests, etc.

I like this... Carnivals/Circuses passed through a few of my PnP games, a couple were themed more towards Something Wicked This Way Comes, but a friendly one could definitely spruce up the harbor atmosphere into something more enticing and awe-inspiring.

Anything that catches a new players eyes and attention with some of the fantastic artwork and animations we have would definitely make people a lot more enthusiastic.

There's an area down on the far side of the harbor, water level by the wall bordering the Inspired Quarter. There's nothing over there but a bunch of trainers who aren't used anymore because new players are first sent over by the wayward lobster(which also has trainers). This location would be PERFECT for the carnival.

While we're at it - a few games of chance that allow you to earn paltry amounts of plat might be a nice addition. Not enough to be worthwhile for established players, but would be a handy boon to newbies. I remember when I was just starting out in the game, earning enough plat just to keep my equipment repaired was a real problem. With the plat economy basically dead, what could it hurt?
