    Default Ignore function

Recently, there has been a recrudescence of flaming posts on the forum.
Sensibly, I chose to ignore said person, to remove them from my field of view.

Unfortunately, this is not what happened - their name keeps popping up when I search for new threads, encroaching what is otherwise a rather nice way to find the newest hype, builds, ideas or players to help out.

I'd be lying if I said I don't mind having to do the extra effort to browse through those (after all, I *DID* create a whole post about it!). I'd be quite happy if someone could teach me how to entirely remove someone's posts from search results and forum lists altogether.
If such a thing is impossible, could someone make it possible? That sounds like a pretty neat addition. Pretty please?

The problem is...he slightly changes his forum name each day...once the current one gets banned.

Alas, at the moment the only ignore feature on these forums (that I'm aware of) simply replaces all posts made by people on your ignore list with a large message in a white box saying "Hidden because this person is on your ignore list". New posts will still be shown and - given the dark background of the forums - actually makes them more visible (you just can't read what they say anymore).

you can go to SETTINGS top right corner, then IN Settings, the navbar on the left has a *edit ignore list* under *My settings*\*My account*

this will however do jack**** about that one idiot you prly talk about, he is cycling through endless newly created troll accounts.

He will only go away after cordo logs in to completely bann/erase the current troll sock account.
Or maybe if they try to IP ban, but that again can be worked around,
so maybe if they sue him for harrasment and the police bans him but who are we kidding.

In the past his brain only melted on weekends - currently he seems a bit unhinged even for his standards...

If you dont want so see that prly only current workaround is to only read forums at US daytime after cordo scrubbed him for the day ...

We do apologize for this recent bout of spamming on the forums. While we do our best to address the issue right away, there are also times folks are, say, stuck in traffic or otherwise busy. It took a bit too long today to get rid of it, sorry. It'd be lovely to permanently bring this behavior to an end, but the reality is there's only so much that can be done to prevent the truly dedicated.
Have fun, and don't forget to gather for buffs!

I agree, but I'm not sure why. I tried the same thing, and got the same results, Ignoring someone doesn't do anything. In most of the forums I use, adding someone to my Ignoring list hide all posts from said user including any Top Level Posts by said user. 30 seconds problem solved. The forum moderators can't be available 24/7, and I understand that. I work odd hours so SSG staff is usually sleeping when I play/post. If the ignore function actually ignored him, even with a stockpile of troll-alts, I could ignore them all in less time than it took me to post this, and he could have his fun with posting non-sense to an empty room, and maybe get bored and finally go away.

Cordovan: What did you do to this kid anyways? Run over his puppy? Awful lot of hate there even if it is a unhappy gold roll purchaser....

by and large dude seems to be badly personally impacted by company's stance towards customers and feels by being a troll he turns into a messiah warning other players about the big evil ...

also some underlying deeper issues presumably...

This is my first encounter with the ignore function on the forums.
What that function did was underwhelming, which is why I wondered if I was doing something awfully wrong.

As normally, ignoring someone on a social network site entirely blocks them from your view, I was rather surprised to find the person still winding up in my search results is all.

I know preventing someone truly dedicated to the task from doing it is close to impossible - that's not really what I was asking for here.
After further thought, I wouldn't really insist on changing that function, mostly because that'd be doing what that person wants - using precious company time to fight them instead of making the game better.
