Default Let's try a different route here

Ok again I have thousands and thousands ddo points I spent cash on these, they are just like a gift card in all terms.
Walmart would not tell you, you cannot purchase this new item with your gift card you need to spend real cash on this item, the money you have invested into our company for future uses are not eligible to purchase this product at this time with a gift card months down the road sure you may.
    That doesn't sound right correct?
This was my complaint my old money is no good and new money is required for the purchase of the expansion. I could see not letting free to play accounts purchase the sharn expansion early with points but there is no reason that premium members and VIPs shouldn't be able to purchase sharn with points most premium members actually spend more money than VIPs per year.

If the people who would buy with points early would bankrupt SSG then the game is already doomed.
Lots of people like their fluff the Season Pass proved that.

In all fairness, I doubt Walmart as an entity even knows what DDO is. They're simply in the business of selling gift cards. It's not on them to explain stuff that which is DDO's responsibility to inform you.

That said, DDO should make it clear on the packaging that gift cards are not equal to game codes. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. I haven't seen a points card in years.

Points aren't the same as cash (or a gift card). Points can be earned through playing.

Wait wo wo hey ho wo hey! You spent CASH on ddo points, but you wont spend CASH on pre-ordering the expansion? You do realize that this is the same thing they did with Ravenloft correct? They released the pre-order and made the expansion only accessible to those who pre-ordered it for a bit, and now they are doing the same with Sharn. You knew that they already had a history of doing this... Yet you are complaining when they do it? Why didn't you just plan to buy the expansion when it came out, instead of spending $$$ on DDO points that you didn't need right then and there.

Seems to me... YOU are at fault, for buying the DDO points that you planned to use to buy sharn, before sharn was even released.

While I can generally agree with many of your sentiments, your statement here is probably incorrect. Many if not most VIPs also take advantage of DDO (nee Turbine) Point Sales to purchase still more XP and Loot Bonus elixirs, and so forth.

Many before you have expressed similar reservations regarding to DDO's pricing policies regarding their major content expansions: Menace of the Underdark, Shadowfell Conspiracy, and Ravenloft. And some have even quit playing DDO as a result of these policies. It is, however, a fairly standard business practice in the online gaming industry, one that can raise revenue for future projects.

At least that is the theory. You might think of the pre-purchase period as an investment in the game's future; and the exclusivity of the content for the initial release period as a "good customer" reward . . .

so, I am guessing you would like the new race(s) and enhance tree offered now for game coin instead of later?
that would be cool, I guess.
doubt they will do that but...it would be cool.

A better route, if you want results, would be to PM customer service here and explain your situation, which is a more compelling argument than starting a semantic debate about Walmart and gift cards as compared to DDO points. Approaching customer service directly has given me better results through the years that going into a public forum.

Lets not. We got the point last time around. This seems to be about something more than some points.

I wish I knew how to fix your rl situation.

Ive met 2 players that have passed. One spent their time building friendships and encouraging community in game and is missed by everyone that met them. The other became a real abusive crank and spent some of their last minutes on earth literally screaming at all the other players because an imaginary person pulled an imaginary hat that they wanted. I dont believe that there are many players that really think fondly of that person.

I sincerely hope that some miracle turns your situation around but...

Last time I contacted CS in game I was told asking for a lost pre purchase item was a waste their time and if I asked again or submitted any ticket within x amount of time I would catch a ban for abusing support, so no not contacting them. I filed a complaint of said GM with no response, I can say he was a real jerk to say the least and that took days to have him tell me I was wasting his time. I cannot give GM's name here as that would catch me a ban and I dont really wanna play neverwinter. I might catch one anyways as silence is golden and duct tape is silver.

I'm referring to CS here in the forums, not the in-game GMs, they would not be able to help.

    Angry Cube Squish

Sir or ma'am, leaning towards sir.
I sent you a code already no reason to complain a day later.
Maybe just maybe you should stop playing the game. From what you say you dont have a whole lot of time left so maybe you should spend the last bit of time doing something productive rather than being so toxic and running around in make believe, you wouldn't be so angry if you just stopped playing.
A few hundred bucks or whatever should mean nothing as your time is short enjoy your last bit of time dont be so crabby that your caregiver doesn't even want to be around you thats where your headed. I have taken care of many sick people and I can attest to this.

Not everyone has cards, credit or debit, and sometimes have to figure out ways to utilize cash. I'm gonna assume he was trying to figure out a way to convert his cash to DDO-specific credit, because AFAIK, there is no physical cashier window for DDO.
(Now that could be an idea, a one-stop shop for online gaming where you could pay cash to a teller, but not a rip-off like Gamestop)

If he's on social security disability (?) he's getting screwed over nine ways to Sunday already. It is not a moral failure to be cash dependent.

I do not for a second believe you got a response like that just for sending in one ticket.

How many times did you send in a ticket for the same problem?

What kind of language did you use in the tickets?

I have never had anything but a nice and friendly reply and gotten helped when I have sent in tickets. The GM's I have been in touch with have always been great.

I remember that comment the other day. [3/28]

[Qwerty & Garb, remember I post this as a reader who cannot verify either claim I'm about to address.]

Garb: I know your red dots were earned previously mainly for the style of your postings, but I don't recall any of your past posts leaning towards deceit. So I believe you have sent the code you claim to have.

Qwerty: This brings the light of attention back to the motives of your OP [and previous thread], which I hesitate to throw shadow at because of your claimed situation. If you indeed won't accept the code you may have been sent because of "charity", simply contact Garb to see what non-bound Store item(s) you can purchase with your points (or Guild account deposit) to 'pay' for the code.
    -------

At this point, we [the readers] are sitting between two claims - 1 being "I want this now" and 2 being "I gave it to you."
