Default Problem with Inferno of the Damned

I think this is related to the bug that made Frame Work harder to complete.

The disciples that normally get alert and get up when players stay long enough near their door don't seem to wake up anymore.
This prevents people from getting to the extra chest after getting the key.

That optional has always been hard to complete (at least in any group/time I have ran it). The gates need to be placed on a timer from when the first PC comes close to it. I've had the gates come down and the Disciples never activate preventing me from switching sides too. It is just a really buggy mechanic. It sounds great in theory but the application has always been a miss.

This was already brought up quite early after the change, and I think they're already aware of it. Doesn't hurt to remind them I guess, but I don't think there's going to be any quick fixes to that.

I just ran the Inferno of the Damned and I was worried about the agro changes and this exact problem.

I found that the first set, the ones sitting down, activated for me. Maybe I got lucky and if I ran it again they wouldn't.

The second ones, the ones up a ramp and with the key, never activated for me. I know that I've gotten them to activate, but I don't recall when in relation to agro changes.

The first one is somewhat timed. The second one required some sort of aggro through door, usually by standing at the door and ranging the portal to death activated them. First one will probably still work, second probably doesn't until they make specific change to the quest.

Stand near the door and shoot the fire-pit. That wakes them up every time for me.

Unless you're talking about the very first ones at the beginning. IIRC, that wake-up is purely scripted and takes a very long time to trigger. I seem to recall doing something weird that bugged it once, but I no longer recall what I did other than thinking afterwards "that was stupid, why'd I do that, now I have to reset".

Edit: it might have been sneaking that broke it that once (ie. sneaking up to it so they didn't notice me).

However, both wake-ups have worked for me as recently as last week. So, there is hope -- just hang out at the doors until the script triggers and don't leave.
