    Default Elf Rogue Question

    Hi all,

I used to play this game years ago, and I'm returning to try it out again. LOT of changes. In addition to making a couple low levels and remembering how stuff works, I've been looking at my old characters. One was a Elven 12 Rogue / 1 Fighter. I vaguely recall it had pretty great single target dps at the time.

Anyway, I'm looking over the enhancement system and it seems like the elven bonuses with rapiers and being able to use dex on damage (both in elf enhancement tree) stack up pretty well with doing a lot of single target TWF with Rogue. However, I can't really find any builds that cover this, and was wondering how good it would actually be if no one else seems to be doing it. Any opinions or advice on this subject would be really appreciated. Thanks all.

Assassins are now dagger-based since the tier 5 of assassin (knife spec) gives them a 15-20/3 crit profile. Add to that Lethality at level 18 core and it goes x4. You also get dex to hit and damage: ddowiki.com check out assassin enhancements.

If you have Vistani, assassins will take AP there too, eventually about 24-26 depending on build.

If you do not have Vistani, you can spend the AP in TA for improving dodge, maxed dodge etc.

As an Elf, you could do dragonmark of displacement but it is not that worth it in heroics.

As the previous posted said, daggers are the way to go now. Regarding the fighter level, you probably were aiming for getting a second level for the extra feat and haste boost. I'm not sure it's worth it now though, since the assassin capstone is +2 Dex, +2 Int, +10 Melee Power, +4 SA dice, +4 Reflex Saves, and +2 DC Assassinate.
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

I recommend a TR at 20 so the extra fighter level is fine. If that is the case, you can even splash 1 monk and go uncentered. This lets you take faster sneaking in the ninja tree which will stack with assassin sneak. It is an excellent heroic split if done in the right order; you can even remain centered with Vistani (eventually).

Another option at this point is 1 barb for even faster movement speed +10% stacking with Thief acrobat.

You could just stay with rapiers if you have really good ones (like a GS radiance) and if you lack access to Vistani. Daggers will be better for the multiplier and vistani but hey! In that case take weapon finesse (swap feats) so that you get dex hit & damage from assassin cores. Skip knife spec from Tier 5...

A final option is taking wizard at level 18 and take extend; swap an earlier feat for dragonmark. You can then drop AP in elf for displacement and drop 1 AP in archmage for invisi SLA (it will last 2 minutes with extend). Also, grab 1 AP from EK for a cleave boom.
