Default This can't be the right way to hold a sword

Found a funny bug today. When wielding a cosmetic greatsword, but using a maul, half-orcs will hold the sword like it's a maul, including holding it by the blade, with their second hand just kind of sitting there.

You know, if your character's left hand were actually on the hilt with his right on the Ricasso (an unsharpened part of the blase just above the hilt, sometimes covered with leather specifically for grabbing, particularly on zweihanders) you could claim to be using the half-swording technique, which is used when you are fighting in closer quarters than normal swordplay allows/can benefit from.

Maybe that is the case but you lost your grip?

    It's clearly a throwing greatsword.

All the better to confuse your enemies - they think they can raise their shield to deflect a greatsword blow, but instead they get hit with the force of a 10-ton truck!
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

I run a lot of Silvanus lives, as PDK; anyone know if this applies to them? I'd test, but I TRed into a caster for a life or two lol. But AFAIK PDK and HORCs have the same character model?

    Hilarious though, thanks for finding!

Hmm to test this I would have to log in, then I would have to play and then I would get in trouble with my wife!

So please post a photo for some instant gratification!

Still I never liked the idea of using cosmetic weapons, it does not seem right to me. If you are using a maul it should look like you are using a maul!

I would be ok if you had a really cool looking sword and you used that as a cometic for your sword though.

You see Conan's iconic atlantean sword has such a part of the blade and he grabs it occasionally in Conan the Destroyer. His has a bronze siding that is clearly not sharp.

It might have changed to something else odd since I last played a weapon monk, but your character will appear to impale itself with the weapon. The weapon is stuck inside the torso going in the chest and coming out the back.

It's closer to proper half-swording than the broad hacking animation is to proper use of a rapier or other piercing weapon, so I guess that's an upside.

that's "reverse Jibbers", a mystical stance practiced only by a select few elite monks, totally WAI
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
