Default Death Throes - Here is why!

We have an opportunity to bring some flavor to DDO!

We can all agree that attack and damage bonus is a more solid choice. However, this makes the item good for melee DPS builds only...

On death effect is something that would be quite unique in DDO and that could be enjoyed by everyone.
Also, on high reapers people die frequently, this would make it more fun definitely!

The original DnD spell that I believe is inspiring this ability reads:

"If you are killed, your body is instantaneously destroyed in an explosion that deals 1d8 points of damage per caster level to everyone in a 30-foot-radius burst"

This is a very large radius which is good, the damage needs to be scale up obviously. As for caster level, it could be the minimum level of the item?

Save the damage on death effect types for augments.............. good idea but bad idea for anything but augments, pet equipment, or set bonuses to contain.
Massive AoE damage on pet death is a great idea. Pets useful for something other than pulling levers let's go.

It's a **** shame Animal Companion is so bad in DDO. I mean AC is more powerful and versatile than entire other classes in pnp!

I'll be ok with anything but the suicide bomber option. Don't like that one at all. I was looking forward to some more interesting options, but I guess a Relentless Fury kind of buff is ok.

At least most classes can choose to be of most alignments, making that option less class-specific than boosting smites or turns.

If you're doing something with Lawful and with Good I'd rather like to see it usable for all lawful and all good characters.
Add some duality even; sometime you have to choose between honor and justice. Make it so that the item is good for LN, LE, NG, CG and mediocre for LG if you can. Like the justice part adds sneak damage versus evil, but the honor part reduces sneak damage, or something.

I joined the Killing Evil Foes crowd, as that's one of the least class-restrictive choices.

    However, this one:

Dying also causes a large explosion around you, significantly damaging all foes,
...if that was on a Docent that we could equip to our mech-mutts, or armor for wolf companions, that would be frikkin awesome! Would take Uncaring Master to a whole new level.

I liked MRR based on Religious Lore. I play a lot of bards and they get ALL the lores. Can we use the Lore feats more?

My sense of humor is incredibly eclectic so it made me smile if not outright chuckle.

just saying, give some use to religious lore

in fact, make it exclusive to monk, since looks like verybody is aiming to get the item for the monk, and you will nerf it (cause it's going a way where u will need to nerf it to balance), just think in advance, and make it unable to be used by monks, it would be kinda absurd asking for a item stats/properties and then nerf it because every toon in servers is a monk using it

see the difference? removing 1 of the classes so the other 12 can use, instead of removing 12 classes cause it only makes sense for 1 using it
psykopeta is finally baconpletionist because there isn't anything to delay it more - thelanis, where the gimps claim to be pros and noobs claim to be pros, no newbies allowed(unless they claim to be pros), we have enough drama w/o them. PS: I post only in the latest thread shown in main page, in the weird case u want something from me, feel free to send pm

This is what I voted for too but mostly because I'm not crazy about these options. I went for the one that I thought benefits anyone that wants the stuff already on this item.

Dying also causes a large explosion around you, significantly damaging all foes.

You could have gone a much more sinister route with this option....
Dying causes a random effect to happen around you.
    • 1. 3 Droam Charges are set off around you.
      2. 5-10 whirling blades (of lag) are spawned.
      3. Mass frog DC 100.
      4. Large Explosion
      5. Mass Confetti

Learn something new every day. Maybe someone else has the end date as the same barely visible grey as I do for titles.
Also worth noting: if you aren't currently logged in you don't see an end date on the poll. So someone very easily could have seen something similar to:

last week, figured the poll was over, and left without logging in or voting.

There's also the fact that week 2's poll has 97 CON votes and 93 WIS votes, with the result being that WIS and CON won in a tie. That set an implied condition precedent that if two options were neck and neck and far ahead of all the other options it would be counted as a tie, which was then further supported with

I'm going to take a little bit of time to restructure some stuff before Week 3 starts in earnest (likely on Monday) but for right now it's definitely clear that both Wis and Con won I'll see you guys for Week 3!
week 3 decisively splitting the community and having massive interest in two options, with an even smaller gap between the two of them than there was week 2 between CON and WIS, would result in a tie and cause both options to come into play week 4.
(the percentage difference between CON and WIS was 3x greater than the percentage difference between Honor&Justice and Body&Mind; the numerical difference was 4x greater; and for vaccuum percentages the difference between CON and WIS was 2.5x greater than between H&J and B&M)

    Default Tough choices

Usually I vote for funz, but I decided to be prudent here in light of palis, clerics and warlocks, so I went with:

    • Using Turn Undead also deals additional Light and Fire damage to surrounding enemies.

Would tenp. increasing attack speed en-mass slow down the engine?

That would be my 2nd choice.

Lower proc rate, but chance for exploding ham and perhaps dare a I say, a new drop of Brocholi Bunches for spell points?

BTW I love to eat broncholi, but can never spell the word. I might even steam me up some brocholi, caailfower, baby carrots and garlic this weekend, yum!

Also how about RL DDO Brocholi t-shirt? I'd pay $25 for one.
